good food - especially pancakes - Edit
We found this place very easily- other comments mentioned that you could sit here before dinner service but they graciously refused and asked us to return at 6pm When they formally opened. Service was quick, friendly staff. Food was fresh- great taco salad. Also had some yummy corn soup. Burger was nice but not the best vegan burger I’ve tasted. Pancakes here are a must!!

Amazing matcha pancakes and ambience - Edit
I came here for the matcha pancakes and it was heavenly. Matcha was prominent through the gluten-free pancakes, which had a steamed pudding texture. It's bittersweet taste was nicely balanced with lightly sweet matcha white chocolate sauce, whipped soy cream, aduki beans and vanilla ice cream. Slightly expensive but worth it. Good service and relaxing ambience. Good spot after walking in the Nishiki market area.

Lovely - Edit
Found Journey to be better than the one in shinjuku, beautiful atmosphere and water was nice and lemony. Had matcha pancake, omelete and very realistic chickn first trip and strawberry parfait second time with burgers that were very similar to the burgers in tokyo. All very tasty and enjoyable with friendly staff.

Matcha pancakes are just must try - Edit
I visited this place for the second time and I absolutely love it. Tried their burgers, green curry, salad... and the matcha pancakes are all vegans must try. Even my non vegan friends loved the food. The stuff is really friendly and the place has a great location within a city center so it's easy to find. The atmosphere is very nice as well. Would recommend to everyone. Cannot wait to come back and try some more desserts.

An all vegan plant based restaurant. Location is great. We ordered almost everything on the menu and each dish was great. The newyork style cheese cake was great, must have. Also the ice cream soda was very refreshing. The staff is very friendly. All in all a great place to eat in kyoto.

This place is everything I love: matcha, vegan, and Japan! My friend and I split a salad to start, burger (mushroom patty and coconut cheese is SO good), and matcha pancakes for dessert. The staff is so sweet and the atmosphere is so cute and cozy.

You have to try the karaage! It was so juicy and tender I have never had anything like it! I have been to the other Ain Sophs in Tokyo and I like the unique items this one has. The soy fried chicken burger is my new favorite burger!

Amazing - Edit
I’m not a huge fan of fake tasting meats so not many options other than the chicken type burger appealed to me, but the chicken type one was absolutely amazing! So tasty and super filling! Was left feeling very satisfied

Convenient and Delicious - Edit
Listed on the menu they recommend their specialty, a sort of mushroom curry with rice and fresh greens. Whenever I go to a vegan restaurant I like to choose what they think they are best at preparing. So naturally I ordered it along with a side dish of fried soy nuggets. Together, the meal was savory and delicious. Couldn’t help myself when I saw the Moscow Mule on the menu too, so I chose to wash it all down with a tall glass. It was all very delicious~

Ain Soph - third time still lucky! - Edit
This is the third Ain Soph that I've visited in Japan and all three have been great. They have some similarities but also some menu items specific to each restaurant. This one had great salad plates, sides and burgers, as well as delicious desserts. The venue is warm and comfortable, especially on a cold winter's day and the prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food and the location.

Guilt-free and Doubt-free meal in Kyoto - Edit
Great ambiance and super friendly staff. Offers a good range of meal options, including burgers and plates, and plenty side dishes, drinks (alcooholic and non-alcooholic), and desserts. A little vegan heaven at the heart of one Kyoto's shopping districts. I had the Cutlet Burger (comes with fries) and loved it!

Fake cheese - Edit
A beautiful place with a good atmosphere, although the music could definitely be calmer. The food was good but could be improved upon. The mixed nut salad would be better with more nuts but the dressing and the greens were delicious. The cheeseburger had a good patty but the cheese felt very fake and overwhelmingly strange-tasting. Good staff and tasteful design, though

Yummy vegan food in kyoto - Edit
The food here was really nice, if you're not chasing japanese food. We had the crispy chicken burger, which was really yummy, especially the homemade tartare, the karrage, which was really good, the nut salad which i loved, especially the homemade vinegarette, and the cheese burger, which we didn't particularly like. It was a bit sloppy and the patty wasn't anything special. However the amazing cheesecake and chocolate cake, and the delicious sangria made up for it. Overall very tasty, if a little expensive for what you get (relatively small portions, especially the sides of chips). Service was friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere with chill tunes.
