Get the seasonal parfait! - Edit
The burgers here are great, the taco rice is great as in other locations but the star of the show in Kyoto is the seasonal parfait! You thought I was going to say matcha pancakes? They're ok but the parfait for Halloween and Spring are amazing!
Read morePros: Good food, Good dessert, Good location
Cons: A bit pricey, Sometimes food is sold out, Get here before 4pm as it closes before dinner

Tasty - Edit
We tried nearly all the dishes they serve and all were amazing. My family were visiting me from England, and are both vegan, and they were really impressed. The Burger was incredible too, it doesn’t taste too much like meat. And it does have a very nice sauce, and texture, which makes it just as moreish.

Nice Veg restaurant in Kyoto - Edit
Ain Soph.Journey is located in the famous shopping street in the centre of Kyoto. It is a super convenience dining place for Vegans and Vegetarians, as you know it is relatively difficult to find a Veg restaurant in Japan.
Read moreThe restaurant has two level, about 16 seats for each, not a big shop but you will feel comfortable when you are sitting here as there are lots of room between tables.
Food options here included hamburgers and rice plates and others side dishes. And it would be a good news to you if you are sweettooth, as there are many choices of desserts.
I had hamburger set dinner here. The hamburger with soy steak taste good but the sauce is a bit salty for me, it would be great if there is another sauces option. Salad with nuts and corn chips with fresh tomato sauce are good.
Pros: Convenience , Friendly staffs, Comfortable place
Cons: Less option for main dishes

Amazing burgers! - Edit
Ain Soph has the best vegan cheese burger in Kyoto. Seriously amazing food. It had a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The only downside is the high cost, making this more of a treat than a regular hang out, but it’s worth a visit at least once!

Delicious! - Edit
Cozy space and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I had the classic burger and it was great. The side of fries that comes with the burger is very small compared to American standards but was really is probably all the fries you need ;)

Great atmosphere, lots of choice - Edit
Hidden at the tail end of Nishiki market in Kyoto, this restaurant with a mouthful of a name was a fantastic find while traveling with my vegan, gluten-free sister who couldn't go to the usual places I go to.
Read moreThe staff are super polite, the service is speedy (not the norm in most vegan restaurants, I've found), and the food is good. The menu clearly indicates which items contain gluten or certain possible allergens, and the English is comprehensible.
Avoid the cheeseburger if you don't like mushy fake meat (taste was okay, but under sauced and bland), but the dishes we tried were great.
Pros: Friendly, speedy service, Lots of choice, Menu is clear with lots of info
Cons: Pricey (A lot of vegan restaurants are), The cheeseburger is under sauced and mushy

Best desserts. Somewhat expensive. Food just OK. - Edit
First the good-- I've really enjoyed the desserts here. They are inventive, delicious, and well-balanced.
Read moreI've had two full meals here and I have to say that the food, while enjoyable, didn't live up to the hype for me. It feels like they rely too heavily on their meat substitute products, some of which are made in-house. No doubt, they are good. But the dishes themselves feel like they're incomplete, missing a little something to balance it out.
For example, the taco rice salad was begging for some vegan sour cream or guacamole to balance out the sun-dried tomato flavour of the soy ground beef. The chicken burger had a great texture, but it was literally a patty on top of unseasomed cabbage, with some tartar sauce. 300 yen extra for a small handful of fries.
I enjoyed visiting this restaurant, but I don't think I'll return for a meal; only dessert. I just expect better execution of the menu at these prices.

Lovely and Serene - Edit
After a long day of touring in Kyoto, we were happy to sit down and relax and enjoy a meal of corn soup and taco rice salad. The food was tasty and the service was good. I recommend Ain Soph if you're looking for vegan or you want break from Japanese fare.

We have also been in the one in Tokyo but this one is far better. Especially the salad dressing and the fried soya chunks are very nice. Cozy atmosphere and chill music. Dessert looks delicious too!

Excellent vegan food in the heart of Kyoto - Edit
We had a wonderful family dinner when my parents came to visit us in Kyoto. The food is fresh, creative and vibrant. We love the atmosphere of the restaurant and all the staff speak English. The food is a little on the pricey side but it's worth it for a unique vegan experience in Kyoto.

Yummy, good size, well priced - Edit
All the food I tried was great. It ranges from ¥1000 to ¥1400 for a meal, and ¥300 to ¥600 for sides. Desserts are ¥700 up to ¥1800. Very good sized portions. Friendly staff and lovely area to sit. March 2019

Great place with great food! - Edit
I have eaten here twice now, cause it has good location and the food tastes yummy, both times I took a salad (different one) and was more excited with the second salad (not taco one). Really good soy cutlet (take as an extra) and desserts should be good too, but I did not try them.😄
Read moreA bit pricey tho yep, but location is the reason I think and they could do something more cooler as a menu side for dishes, too simple seems for me...

Between us, we had the chicken burger, fries, soy cutlet, and karaage. Everything was great. And fully vegan restaurants are always a treat. Highly recommended. The price is was a bit higher than other comparable options we've tried in Kyoto, but I had no problem with supporting this vegan restaurant!

Great selection, great location, and great pancakes - Edit
An all vegan restaurant that is part of the Ain Soph group. The menu is fairly large with everything from soy meats, to curries, to burgers (same as the ones sold at the amazing Ripple Burger in Tokyo). Prices are a bit high, but not completely unreasonable.
Read moreI ordered the taco rice and the matcha pancakes. The taco rice was great and the mock ground beef was very flavourful, but I feel like it could have used a bit more sauce and vegan cheese. The matcha pancakes are what moved this review up to a 5. Though they were 1800 yen for two, I honestly think they were worth it. They came with adzuki paste, ice cream, whipped cream, and tons of rich matcha sauce. Quite possible the best dessert pancakes of my life.
Pros: The matcha pancakes, Varied menu, The matcha pancakes

Review - Edit
We tried the palak paneer and the burger. On the overall, the food was good. Though palak paneer was a little on the sweeter side, and the rice served along with the dish was japanese rice instead of indian basmati (the traditional accompaniment).
