Simple and hits the spot - Edit
A little hole in the wall place. There were no other customers when I approached. I was about to use Google Translate on the menu when the owner gave me a laminated copy of an English version of the menu.
Read moreThe only option is large or small bowl of noodle soup. It comes with noodles in a thick soup with crispy tofu and meat substitute sprinkled on top. It is tasty and filling. Can choose from a selection of drinks and shaved ice deserts. There are a couple of tables on the street.
It is ideal when you want simple and filling.
The lady is very friendly and helpful.

Don't be scared, just walk up to the don or aunty running the stall and point to the picture of the soup and say 'ickge'. Easy easy!

Best experience so far in Taiwan - Edit
Really cute old lady who doesn't really speak English but has a menu in English. Everything is fully vegan (except the drinks some contain cow milk). The food is good and she gave me another noodle plate for free when she saw mine was too spicy (I didn't realize the spicy sauce would be this spicy 🥵). Highly recommend

The woman running this stall is super friendly and has a teeny bit of broken English. We used Google translate to confirm the soup was vegan.

Simple vegan food, nicest lady - Edit
After being completely ignored at anotjer vegan place on the same street, getting to this little shop was great. The old lady running the place by herself was very nice and attentive eventhough she does not speak a word of English, and we don’t speak a word of Chinese.
Read moreThe menu is not extensive, only noodle soup for hot food, but it is very tasty. Not sure how she makes it but the broth had a jelly like texture. The dish is simple: broth, noodles, some dried tofu bits on top and corriander (she asked if we wanted it by showing it to us first).
There are some other cold dishes and beverages available.
Only a couple of tables outside to sit.
