Lulu Delicious - Edit
It’s spectacular that this place exists, and it is a bonus that it is superb. Couldn’t ask for better food or service. Would love to come back and try a lot more of these many options!

Nice little family restaurant. Informal. Medium veggie sampler was probably enough for 2, but I ate it all. Delicious!

All vegan Ethiopian! - Edit
I came here twice during my short visit to Minneapolis…once with a small group of four people, and another time I made a reservation for a group of 20 people. Everyone loved the food, it was healthy tasty and delicious, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I should know that the place is not large, and we couldn’t fit all 20 people at the same table, but they were able to accommodate us.

Authentic and delicious ethiovegan cuisine - Edit
I've had Ethiopian food at a few different places and Lulu's is my favorite. They have the traditional dishes you'd expect served with injera (lentils, split peas, potatoes, green beans, etc.) cooked with excellent spices. They also have some other diverse Mediterranean and American dishes like falafel, hummus, and a vegan burger. The sweet potato fries in particular are some of the best I've ever had; almost as tender as yams with a satisfying crisp.
Read moreThey also have some vegan desserts like cupcakes, brownies, and (honey-free) baklava. The cuisine is naturally very vegan-friendly, but being able to have everything on the menu is a further plus.
Pros: Delicious healthy food, Diversity of (all-vegan) cuisine, Vegan desserts
Cons: Slightly pricey, but what isn't these days?

A flavorful plate of Ethiopian food. This plate is quite a bit smaller than most other Ethiopian restaurants I have been to, but the flavors are up there with the best. Cosy interior.

We flew into MSP airport and stopped here first to get our dinner before it closed for the evening. Amazing and authentic Ethiopian cuisine. They even had fresh baked vegan baklava!

Tasty vegan options, it seems like they also do vegetarian so I’d check when you order? We really loved the Sambusa and the sharing platter! It’s a pretty small space, does have parking out back. Very casual ambiance. Definitely would go back.

Vegan Ethiopian! - Edit
As someone who loves Ethiopian food, I was so excited to try a fully vegan Ethiopian restaurant. My parents had never had Ethiopian food before, so this was a first for both of us in different ways. We ordered sambusas and a platter, and everything was absolutely delicious. The injera was so good, and all the dishes were so flavorful. While we enjoyed everything, there was one spicy potato dish that we all especially loved and deemed our favorite. Everyone working was really friendly, and the food came out quickly. They also have a small parking lot in the back. Highly recommend—this was easily some of the best food I had while in Minnesota. #Veganuary

Incredible customer service - Edit
Right when you walk in your senses are sparked with the fragrance of herbs and spices. Everything is incredibly flavorful and portions are robust - We ordered way too much in an eager attempt to try different things and had plenty of leftovers. What shined above their incredible food was how kind, cheerful, and pleasant the staff are. You can't help but want this family-owned business to thrive and succeed.

My first time here and not the last. I tried the medium sample platter and it was full of delicious whole foods and flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly. It’s a little out of the way for me but I will be back when I’m in the area again. 5 stars all the way!

Wonderful made from scratch traditional Ethiopian food that is completely vegan. It is owned and operated by a single family. My son loves their French fries and my wife and I love the variety of the chef’s choice platters.

Awesome Ethipoian in Minneapolis - Edit
Lulu EthioVegan is an unassuming quaint restaurant in the best way. Once you’ve found this little Ethiopian treat of an establishment, you’ll be blown away by the wide variety of options that all satiate the plant-based lover’s dream.
Read moreJust looking over the menu gets a vegan’s mouth watering. There are a wide variety of choices even beyond the traditional injera sauce staple of Ethiopian food (but that isn’t to say that isn’t still a great option).
I tried the Ater kik and Suff to drink. The Ater kik had a savory ginger taste that was easy to digest with the injera bread that it came with to scoop up. The suff is a drink made from sunflower seeds that had an obvious nutty and slightly bitter taste. Normally, I wouldn’t go for a milk-like drink with a meal like this, but I wanted to try a more traditional drink that I hadn’t had before. And I am glad I did.
When I travel back to Minneapolis I will make sure to check out Lulu’s again and try another delicious meal. I highly recommend Lulu’s if you’re a local, or someone like me passing through. You will not be disappointed.
Pros: All vegan, Delicious food

Good for samplers - Edit
I like how you can order a sampler of several items. It's great for trying multiple flavors when you aren't sure which one you'll like the most. The injera bread is a unique treat you won't find outside of Ethiopian. I tried the sambusa wedges. It had a blend of herbs and spices that seemed unique. to me, although I am fairly new to Ethiopian food, so I can't say how unique it would be if you've sampled many Ethiopian restaurants.

Yummy Food, Lovely Owners - Edit
Visiting friends in Minneapolis, it was my spouse's birthday and he got to choose where we'd eat. Easy decision when there was a vegan Ethiopian restaurant. The food was delicious, clean and yummy. The owner and her daughter were there, both incredibly welcoming. They even threw in a birthday cupcake for free. Will definitely return the next time we are in town. (FYI - no alcohol).

Could be better - Edit
The food took about 30 minutes to be served to us at room temperature. This is not uncommon; just not my preference. Our injera was very cold. They forgot the side salad that comes with the meal and I asked for right when we received our food and never got it. When we went up to pay, I asked for it to go and they packaged up about 5 pieces of lettuce and a few tomatoes slices. (Refer to photo) It was kind of a joke.
Read moreI love supporting vegan restaurants, but personally wouldn’t come back. (Maybe for the vegan baklava) The food was just like any other Ethiopian restaurant…dare I say not as good.
Pros: Good baklava
Cons: Slow service
