Cafe is now fully vegan

We avoided this place for years as it used to be a zoo, but it seems that they are now a charitable organisation with a no-breeding policy. We didn’t visit the animals (though could see monkeys from the window) but popped into the cafe as we were in the area and were pleased to hear that they’d semi-recently made it fully vegan. Cakes were decent but I would’ve liked if they could label them with the flavours etc. Savoury options mostly seemed to be pizzas

Great mushroom truffle pizza!

Best vegan pizza I've had for some time. Garlicky, truffle-y and cheesy.

Staff could have been more attentive at the counter whilst one was waiting to be served. Whilst busy making coffee, a nod of acknowledgement, and/or a "be with you soon" would have been nice.

Great spot for lunch

Not only is the sanctuary committed to its animals, and not just breeding, the cafe was great! Loads of vegan options. Non vegan boyfriend loved the cheeze toastie and I had a lovely sandwich.

Great plant based cafe

The Wildheart Sanctuary is now 100% plant based again.
The home made cakes and soup were delicious. It's a nice cozy cafe and they all sell Slab vegan fudge (which is made on the Isle of Wight).

Pros: Delicious home made snacks and cakes, Friendly staff, Cozy

Almost totally plant based!

Great selection of sandwiches, cakes, kids mains and a couple of hot options. Some non-vegan ice-cream and maybe Bailey's (if you were hoping to get sloppy at a zoo cafe).

Pros: Sandwich , Cakes, Kids Menu

Disappointing

Upon seeing other reviews I was quite excited to try out the cafe. Unfortunately there was very limited choice, a single option for hot food and limited cold food options - including a meat chicken wrap. Very disappointing considering I was under the impression until recently this place was fully vegan.

I'd still reccomend the sanctuary on your itinerary but perhaps bring a packed lunch.

Disappointing

Very limited menu, they’ve only got sandwiches and a salad in the fridge and the cheeseburger is the only hot food available. No longer fully vegan/vegetarian as they had a chicken wrap and extremely overpriced for what it is.

Nice Cafe

The sanctuary has a cafe with a limited, but delicious plant based menu.

They have the best chips I've ever had and the plant burger was great.

Food is delivered quite fast and the staff seem nice.

Pros: Good quality food, Clean, Lots of space

Cons: Crazy expensive, Can get long queues

Not fully vegan

Disappointed to see that they had non-vegan treats available as well as cows milk available to buy for your coffee. Bit ironic for a sanctuary.

Still plenty of vegan options and the food menu is fully vegan. Had a chickpea ‘tuna’ baguette which was tasty but expensive.

Pros: Fully vegan food menu, Tasty

Cons: Expensive, Served cow milk despite being marked fully vegan

Lovely sanctuary with fully vegan cafe

A really nice place to visit, and for a very good cause. The cafe is fully vegan with plenty of options. It can get very busy though

Pros: Fully vegan , Plenty of options

Cons: Can get extremely busy

They have cow's milk so technically it isn't fully vegan.

Wild heart sanctuary cafe

Sweet little vegan cafe part of sanctuary, great home cooked food and good value. They have a great children’s play area as part of cafe and lots of high chairs too. Need to pay for parking

Delightfully vegan

Really pleased to see that the options were all vegan. Only wanted chips for a light lunch but really enjoyed them. Nice to see the animals enjoying themselves through the window too!

Lovely food and staff

We made a family visit to see the rescue animals at tge Sanctuary. It was a happy surprise that the cafe has the same ethics. They said they had become fully vegan in the past couple of weeks and that visitors were loving it.

Pros: Great tasting food , Spacious setting with views across to the beach , Friendly and helpful staff
