Good food - Edit
The staff was friendly and welcoming, the menu was diverse and the service was quick. The tacos and chili had incredible flavors. Minus one star due to cleanliness. The tables outside looked like they had never been wiped down as well as trash on the ground. The resturant itself was a bit skeevy too. Dirty windows and floors. A bit of a cleaning would really make this a standout vegan cafe.

Perfect Meal - Edit
I got chili cheese fries and the chicken bacon ranch with a chip witch. I took half home for dinner and got two meals for $30. It is well worth the price.

Stellar! - Edit
Loved this place! Prices were very reasonable for an all-vegan restaurant. We got two meals, a huge thing of potato salad, a drink, and dessert for under $50 (including tip). That’s not the norm for us!
Read moreEverything was good, flavorful, and well-made. Loved the art work on the walls for sale, benefitting a local sanctuary. The chai drink and potato salad were my favorites. I’d gone back just for the potato salad- huge portion and tons of flavor. Very fresh!
Staff was very friendly!

Just okay - Edit
I really wanted to love this place, but it was just okay. I ordered the Southern Comfort Sandwich and the half waffle.
Read moreSouthern Comfort Sandwich: Would have preferred the sandwich without the sauce it had a bit of a weird taste to it I was not too fond of but being the first time ordering here I wanted to try the items as described. Next time I would order without the sauce. The English muffin was nice and fluffy, I did like that.
Half waffle: this was also just okay. It was advertised as coming with maple syrup but it actually comes with a corn syrup based pancake syrup. I was a bit disappointed by that as I love real maple syrup and would not use the one the was served with it.
Pros: All vegan, English muffin
Cons: Not real maple syrup., Odd flavor

I really want this place to succeed - Edit
They’re clearly working really hard on the business side of things, great atmosphere, super convenient. But I get the sense that they don’t change their frier oil often enough or something. All the food here has this weird samey taste to it.
Read morePros: atmosphere, website/convenience/hours, the fusion stuff is cool
Cons: I’d rather have a higher quality focused menu, everything tastes the same in a weird way

I just ordered here and got the. Real fast sandwich and halt waffle and totally get what you mean by the same taste. There was a similar flavor happening in both dishes that I can’t quite figure out.

An amazing deal - Edit
I got both the idly in sambar and the deconstructed samosa. Each was only $8, and each alone would have been a full meal. Complex spices and great flavors. You just can't get deals like this many places these days. I'll be back for sure, next time to try their American food.

Incredible - Edit
Our daughter who lives in Wake Forest brought us to Pure Vegan Cafe for lunch.
Read moreThe food was delicious. Definitely has an Indian influence and spicy- which we love. Save room for dessert - the Biscoff cheesecake was the so tasty. The staff recommended getting two (one to take home) - wish I’d listened.

Excellent casual breakfast and lunch spot! - Edit
Stopped in while traveling through Raleigh. It’s a great spot with a fully vegan all day breakfast and lunch menu. They have a good mix of health conscious foods and treats. My husband and I ordered breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and biscoff cheesecake. Everything was delicious. My teenager isn’t vegan but really liked the peanut butter waffles. Great food, nice clean atmosphere, and friendly staff. I wish we had an option like this in Pittsburgh!

Not so good - Edit
I like the idea of mixing popular Indian street foods and waffles etc, and I appreciate the commitment to cruelty-free. Nice art on the wall too.
Read moreHowever, is it healthy? Indian street foods involve either, or both, a lot of deep frying, and a lot of sugar!
But the worst thing was this: the 'maple syrup' advertised to accompany the waffles is about as unhealthy a chemical mix as you could get anywhere - see photo! They gave me agave syrup instead - sweet and tasteless, a poor substitute for maple syrup!
Then the avocado 'toast' was served on an English muffin, which wasn't toasted! And the 'spice' sermed to be just garlic powder (which I personally dislike). Very unsatisfying breakfast!

Tried this place out for my birthday. Tried the avocado toast, green juice and purple bowl. The toast is super spicy. I loved it but was surprised. Take note if you don't like heat. Purple bowl was really good. Not too sweet. Very balanced. Wheatgrass was a little weak
Read moreChicken sandwich was ok, they were out of waffle fries. I got a golden milk and it was cold and awful.😡pretty disappointed
Update 1-15-2023 came back for another try. We got the PVC Tikki and the BBQ Jackfruit sandwich. Both were fantastic. I upped my star rating. We will definitely be back.

Amazing flavors, friendly service, and comfortable atmosphere - Edit
We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Service was prompt and friendly. They provided good suggestions to my daughter and helped her pick something out. I had my heart set on the chana masala wrap, which did not disappoint! My wife had the tacos and my daughter had a burger. There was a ton of food and we did not even finish the fries. Everyone really liked the lunch. There was plenty of seating and a comfortable atmosphere. We will stop again on our next trip to Raleigh.

Breakfast and Lunch were pretty tasty - Edit
My partner and I went here twice in one day because it was close-by and totally vegan. We had the french toast & waffle with strawberries for breakfast. We split them so we had both and they were pretty great. If you liked the french toast at Cracker Barrel, then you'll like the french toast here. It is not overly covered in cinnamon or powdered sugar. The waffle is fluffy. The bad part is that the "maple" syrup is made with corn syrup and other ingredients. The coconut cream is thick and yummy.
Read moreFor lunch we had the BBQ jackfruit sandwich and the buffalo chick'n sandwich. The jackfruit was a bit over cooked but it had absorbed the BBQ flavor well. I am not a huge fan of sweet BBQ sauce and that is what they had (I like NC eastern BBQ, this was not that). The slaw was made with kale. I did not like the slaw but my partner found it very tasty. The Buffalo sauce was very accurate and so was the ranch sauce. It was messy but very tasty. The chick'n wasn't the standard processed chunk of vegan protein, it was more similar to "chicken" and the breading was crunchy. Both the sweet potato fries and regular fries were amazing. I couldn't finish my serving of sweet potato fries and when I ate them later (cold) they were still delicious! The regular fries were not good cold.
I had the chipwich for dessert. It was chocolate chip with strawberry frosting. It was very delicious, but the amount of frosting was minimal. When I asked for more, the owner did not take the opportunity for an upsale, instead telling me that was enough frosting.

I had the buffalo chik’n and the chik’n bacon ranch.
Buffalo had too much sauce for me personally but the chik’n bacon ranch was delicious! I recommend adding pickles to any one that doesn’t come with them!
We shared a chili dog I believe will double check that and it was soooo goood!
I’m not a fan of the sodas. I recommend the shakes/smoothies. I had the Java smoothie and it was so good I definitely want to get another!
I highly recommend this place!

I went to Pure Vegan Cafe for the first time and was so happy with the service. Despite being busy on a weekday we got our food fast and it all looked like it was hand-made. We got a burger and hot dog plus wings. The menu is huge so I recommend ordering different things and splitting them.
