a must visit!!

the food is soo good here, everything was great and they have things in the cooler to take to go and eat later. but what makes it a must visit is the fact that its soo close to niu soft serve. makes it a perfect back to back vegan goodness

Always a pleasure!

Peace Cafe staff is always friendly and able to suggest amazing dishes. Come with patience as every dish is prepared to order...but worth it. Whenever I visit I make sure Peace Cafe is on my 'must do' list. Today is spicy yakasoba and garlic tomato soup!

Pros: Food is amazing., Atmosphere, Parking is available in back

Local Vegan

My katsu was a bit overly breaded but overall was good. The tempeh sandwich was a little bland. I was starving so it tasted good enough. There’s a few places to sit inside and outside. You’re right on the sidewalk and a busy road.

Fully Vegan Café in Honolulu

This is a long standing, fully vegan café serving fresh, organic, and thoughtfully prepared dishes with Japanese and local influences. The must try is the tofu katsu curry!

They now serve breakfast!.

Pros: Tofu Katsu Curry, Breakfast dishes, Matcha drinks

Vegan food in paradise

This location is close to Waikiki (maybe a 45 min walk) and that is a nice way to spend the morning.

They have a large menu of Japanese and Hawaiian inspired vegan dishes.
I decided to get a lot of food to try a bunch of stuff. I got the barbecue tofu plate for lunch and the katsu curry plate to go so I could eat it later. The woman at the register said the katsu curry is their most popular dish.

I also got a mochi cake and a black sesame latte. I love soy and soy milk so I didn't substitute anything.

The latte and cake came out first. The latte is incredible. I love that sesame flavor and the soy milk was very creamy.
I also loved the mochi cake! It's moist and has a chocolate banana flavor. It wasn't super sweet and I like that because it isn't so rich that you can only have a bite. Instead it's the right mix of sweet and dark where it can be eaten in one sitting and is super satisfying.

The tofu barbecue plate was yummy too! The tofu is cut into strips after either pan frying or baking so the middle is tender and the outside has a firm skin. The barbecue sauce is layered on top of the tofu on top of the rice. It's a large portion too. The barbecue flavor isn't spicy and it isn't watery either. It's a thick sauce that almost looks like pasta sauce but has that distinct barbecue flavor.
The plate comes with a piece of cornbread that I was worried might be a little burned and dry, but it tasted a lot better than it looked. The middle was still soft and moist and held together really well. I took chunks of it and ate it both on its own and dipped in some left over barbecue sauce from the tofu. It went really well with the sauce and also had a nice flavor and texture on its own.
The spinach salad and coleslaw were well paired sides to the tofu. The spinach was fresh and the dressing on it was tangy. The coleslaw tasted like southern coleslaws usually do and it was so nice to know it's vegan.

I recommend this dish especially if you are a barbecue lover!

The curry looks amazing, but I haven't tried it yet.

Pros: Japanese and Hawaiian dishes made veagn, Everything is made fresh, Large portions

Cons: Lots of plastic utensils, bags, and cups

A Taste of Peace in Honolulu

Peace Café is exactly what its name promises — peaceful, cozy, and full of heart. This family-owned vegan spot in the heart of Honolulu instantly felt like home. The staff was so kind, and you can tell everything here is made with love.

I ordered the Heart & Seoul Plate, and it truly lived up to the name — colorful, nourishing, and full of flavor. The textures and freshness in every bite reminded me why I love supporting vegan restaurants that care deeply about what they serve.

The space itself has such a calm energy — soft light, local art, and that comforting island breeze flowing through the open windows. If you’re in Honolulu and looking for a meal that feeds both your body and your spirit, this is the spot.

Totally TLW-approved. 🫀

Fun textures and flavors!

Amazing little spot. A must-visit in Honolulu!

- The curry katsu was incredible! So many amazing textures and flavors. I wanted to try the tempeh but they were out, but the tofu was great!
- The sample platter was a lot of fun.
- The mochi cake was also great

The theme of the meal was fantastic textures with great variety of flavors. Staff was friendly, and I’d love to try more of the menu!

Salty AF

I hate to give a vegan business this low a rating, but our food was so salty. They don’t serve water, so be prepared to buy drinks. We had the Popeye sandwich and tofu scramble. The smoothie was good but we would have needed four of them to overcome all the salt in the food.

Pros: Large portions , Good smoothie

Cons: So salty!, No water served, Not much for customer service

Amazing.

Outstanding (and friendly) service and excellent food! We had the Katsu Curry, Tofu Scramble, and Yakisoba noodles… and Oat Lattes.

Everything was out of this world. They totally nailed the katsu curry flavor, and offered it with tofu or tempeh. After a debate, we slightly prefer tofu, but encourage others to try both (they offer to make the dish half-half). The tofu scramble felt very healthy and light, as we had hoped.

We will be back!

That mochi cake is delicious, it has a great texture. Also the natto, tempeh, and tofu, are all great. The food is ready slow but it all tastes fresh. Service is friendly. The pipeline smoothie was wonderful

It was ok

Pitaya smoothie was essentially strawberry banana. Wrong order was received for the meal. Wait staff was unattentive. The restaurant was full so we ate on the patio. Busy street next to a goodwill with people experiencing homelessness passing by. We were given a plastic fork to eat with and no knife despite food not being bitesized. The tofu katzu dish was pretty good. Breaded tofu was tasty as well as the rice. The peace sampler wasn't for me.

Pros: Tofu Katzu

Cons: Service, Atmosphere
