Eh - Edit
I had the Heart and Seoul and everyone here kept on saying it was really good but when I had it, the flavors weren’t my favorite. I wouldn’t come back if I had the chance. The restaurant was also really small and they kept on running out of food items.

Love it! - Edit
The food was soooo good! I had the tempeh sandwich, it was huge and delicious!! I took half Togo and saved room for desert. My son had the miso soup and hands down the best miso I have had. They made homemade ice cream completely sugar free, we had the apple pie and loved it. It was a great experience the staff was nice and food was amazing. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal - Edit
My wife and I were blown away at the quality of the food. The miso soup that she had was by far, hands down, the absolute best bowl of miso soup I’ve ever tasted. The green smoothie I had was pretty great, although a bit expensive. We also partook in the sandwiches, and the hummus and cilantro is perfect.

Eh. Food was blah and they were out of half the menu items (no tempeh). I wasn’t a big fan.

Decided to try Uber Eats while in Waikiki. Peace Cafe is yum! Stand outs - vegan egg in the poke, bbq sandwich, cornbread, cheesecake! Staff was friendly answering questions over the phone. Quality was amazing.

First Vegan Restaurant in Honolulu--Holding Its Own - Edit
Peace Cafe used to be my home away from home, but after new owners took over 3 years ago, I felt the food and the vibe went downhill. My recent visit was probably the first time in over a year. They still have the old favorites such as BBQ Tempeh plate and "Heart and Soul" (think vegan bibimbap) on the menu. I prefer the bowls vs. the sandwiches with their overly thick focaccia. New owners have added a number of new items, such as Katsu (fried cutlet) plate made with tempeh or tofu. My friend ordered the latter. I generally avoid fried foods, but at least it tasted pretty good, and I appreciated the big pile of alfalfa sprouts that came with it, in addition to hot mustard and katsu dipping sauce. My BBQ tempeh was about the way I remember it, however the accompanying cornbread was dry, and a piece of it rock hard. When I showed it to the kitchen staff after my meal, they just said "that must have been overcooked" without any hint of apology. No matter how much they dress up the menu or plate the food, somehow it's not the same loving and compassionate service it once was. Still, I'm glad they're still popular and drawing a crowd.

Hawaii loves Peace Cafe. 100% Vegan. The food is delicious. Our local Animal Rights Community loves this place. Our local Vegan Community loves this place. Your review seems unfair. You're critical of the size? You slander them with an "unclean" reference but aren't specific at all? "Random"? What is "random"?

Peace Cafe - Edit
First time trying this place out and it was good! I got the peace plate sampler, and wished I would have tried one of the sandwiches because there were a few things on my plate I didn’t care for. My boyfriend ordered the avo-veggie sandwich and it was so good! We also ordered the miso soup—amazing!! And the cornbread—which was so yummy just a bit dry. If you like kombucha, you should definitely give theirs a try... one of the best ones I’ve had. I would love to come back and try something new, everything looked so good!

Nice surprise - Edit
This was a nice surprise.. since I am in the USA I cannot find anything else then meat, eggs, milk and yoghurt. So this was heaven. I am very used to the Asian and European way of serving etc. So it was a little culture shock but that had nothing to do with the restaurant. That was just me having a jetlag/cultureshock. The food is good and the portions huge! I needed the sandwich to wrap it up and take it home. Quality is pretty good!

Great Customer Service! - Edit
I stopped by for a latte and mochi a couple days ago. The employee behind the register was extremely nice and helpful. She tell me sample different lattes. I picked the black sesame kinako latte. It was delicious! I also got the walnut chocolate mochi. I couldn't even tell it was vegan. I'm definitely going there again. Pro tip: They make the food by order. So don't expect to get a fresh meal in two minutes. You will have to wait a bit.

Peace Cafe - Edit
Peace Café is located in the Mōʻiliʻili neighborhood, (next door from the Kim Chee III restaurant). If you don't know where that is........just look across the street from the Ross Dress for Less in Mōʻiliʻili. It is a smaller restaurant with one large table in the middle, and some smaller tables and counter space surrounding it. Restrooms that require a key are located in back as well. You can pick up the key from the cashier area.
Read moreParking: Parking can be tricky so pay attention to the street signs as there are specific times that you can not park in front of the building and if you do, the parking is metered. The rear parking has only a few space and side-street parking can be limited as well.
This is a casual, low-key, calm place. Just order at the counter, get your own water and utensils, then seat yourself. The food was very good and the portions were enough to satisfy. Tip: Ask for any special dessert off the menu because there are surprises by Chef Shota.

One of the healthiest options on the island - Edit
Peace Cafe does internationally-inspired healthy cuisine that I would describe as "homestyle plus." Both of the two dishes I tried were about three parts simple and healthy to one part amazing flavor. I would've liked more of the amazing flavors in the mix, personally, but I still much enjoyed my meals. Those who appreciate healthy, fresh food prepared with good ingredients and not overcooked should be very happy here (especially if you've overdosed on the fried food at most other local veg places). Service was warm and friendly.

Peaceful and delicious - Edit
It is a 26 min walk to Peace Cafe from the beach hotels at Waikiki, but well worth it. I ordered the Popeye sandwich and a cold soy latte. I loved them both and was so full after eating the sandwich that I not only couldn't eat any dessert but I didn't crave any food later in the night. There are only about 6 individual tables and one large community type table to eat-in. They also seem to take many to go orders over the phone. Their menu listed homemade vegan ice cream, vegan cheesecake, and mochi cakes. I hope to try some of them while I am here. The guy behind the counter said the Yogini is their most popular dish, but I had been hoping for a sandwich the whole walk over there. Recommend highly! Nice atmosphere and good food. I took a taxi back to hotel which only cost me $15 (with tip).
