Zula Cafe - Berlin Germany - Edit
Zula is owned by Tel Aviv native Eran Weinberger. Eran is like Union Square Cafe’s owner Danny Meyer in that he always remembers your name, and not just your name but your friend’s names too. It’s obvious this man loves what he does. Going to Zula is like going home - it’s cozy, it’s busy-ness reminds me of sitting around my crowded family’s kitchen table while eating a great homemade meal. In this case the meal is hummus with so many toppings it makes choosing one a challenge. The “simply the best” hummus comes with classic sides like lemon-garlic juice, fresh hot pepper pureé, Israeli olives, great pickles, and daily homemade pita. It doesn’t stop there - handcut crispy fries, crunchy salad, fresh-pressed lemonade and a lighter-than-air dessert called malabi. For our event Eran veganized the traditional recipe and all I can say is yummm. You must’ve had foods that make you do that, right?
