Excellent lodge with great food - Edit
I stayed at this eco lodge and was very impressed with everything. The food was generally simple, yet satisfying and delicious.
Read moreAsk for the vegan menu! They have a separate menu with even more options than the many listed on the regular menu.
It seems like they do a lot of conservation work with their nature reserve behind the lodge too, which is nice.
Overall, I’d highly recommend both the lodge and the restaurant if you get the chance.

Good Food and Service - Edit
I had the hot chocolate, black bean soup, [censored] pao veggie stir fry and carrot cake. Everything was delicious. I was brought a vegan menu after asking what was vegan.

The Best Experience on the Lake - Edit
An absolutely astounding view and restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly and will make you feel right at home. Their vegan menu is incredibly extensive and their 4 course fixed menu is expensive, but to die for. An absolute must visit when in Lake Atitlan.

Lovely place and large menu - Edit
The menu was quite large and there were several decent vegan options, including a pastry dessert (yay!). The food was enjoyable and there were some creative dishes like the vegan pizza made with a cornflour base. I would have liked to have seen even more vegan options as there was a lot of cheese on the menu, but was quite happy with what I had.

Amazing hotel with wonderful design. Stunning rooms, all from local handicrafts. Great location 10 minutes from Panajachel by boat. Surrounded by a stunning nature reserve with a beautiful hiking trail with views of the entire lake.

Huge menu, healthy yet hearty fare - Edit
I am staying at this resort and, as my only onsite option for food, was just hoping for 2-3 dishes that could be made vegan. Was so pleased to find out they do not serve ANY meat, and over half the items on the menu are vegan and clearly marked. All of the beers and most of the wines are vegan. For dinner I had spanakopita w/tofu (instead of dairy feta), chalupas de maíz (a healthier take on the Taco Bell standard), and some Gallo beers. These dishes were marked as snacks/small plates but I couldn’t even finish them; they were delicious but the portions were pretty large! For breakfast I just had coffee and fruit, but both were delicious. I have only eaten two meals here so far, but can’t wait to work my way through the menu.

Great vegetarian/vegan menu with an incredible view - Edit
Such good food and it's inspired me to start creating my own versions of their recipes! The setting is unbeatable too - candlelit dinner overlooking the lake and two volcanoes, just spectacular. I don't know how they make their pizza bases, but they are incredible. If you're there for breakfast don't miss out on their French Toast!!

A must visit! - Edit
A must for all foodies, we left so inspired to try out new recipes because of the incredible food we tried at Zotz Restaurant - you can tell how much time and effort has gone into curating the menu! We ate here during our magnificent stay at Laguna Lodge, some of our personal favourites included the Mehta Curry (so tasty, also vegan!) and the Chipina Pizza (I wish I could make pizza bases like that!!). Do not skip out on dessert - the Key Lime Pie and Cheesecake are amazing. If you're here for breakfast, we got the 'French Toast with oat and coconut crust' every single morning. No french toast will ever compare again haha!

Fantastic Restaurant/Bar - Edit
My wife and I were here just before they opened in 2008, so we didn't have the full dining experience, but we had an amazing time sharing some beers with the owners while they talked to us about the restaurant, lodge, Guatemala, and more. The owners are passionate, kind, amazing people who seemed deeply dedicated to creating a wonderful restaurant with nutritious, healthy, and delicious food, a local staff, and a superb attention to detail.
Read moreThe restaurant is in a beautiful area on the lake with fantastic views. The decor is gorgeous. I would highly recommend to anybody to visit Zotz and stay at the Laguna Lodge! When we come back, we'll definitely be there!
Pros: Friendly staff, Beatiful Views, Awesome decor
