Family go to - Edit
Zizzi is our family go to but I feel it has gotten worse for vegans recently. They used to have a separate menu for vegans with an amazing lentil ragú, which I never see anymore. The vegan menu is now merged with the main menu, which is great as it means meat eaters will be more likely to order veg food but makes it harder to find items. I prefer an easy separate menu to looking closely at dishes.
Read moreThey also struggled to understand intolerances I had - for example I asked for a pizza not to include the cauliflower. It promptly arrived with the romanesco cauliflower on it, with the chef very confused and denying it was cauliflower sigh 😞.
Other than that, I have really enjoyed the food at zizzis and they have a good range of options! I wish they brought back more desserts though, they always seem to be out of sorbet.
Pros: Good choices, Food is nice
Cons: Difficulties with unusually intolerances, Not many desserts

Perfect date night with a meat eating husband - nether side settling - Edit
Separate vegan menu if you ask for it a wide selection of veggie options so you don’t feel confined to the 1 or 2 dishes available like in other high street restaurants. Doesn’t feel like a compromise for either party when dining out with meat eaters

Delicious vegan pizza - Edit
Really impressed with their vegan menu. It had a lot of choice. My omni friend and I went half and half on two vegan pizzas and loved both of them. Staff friendly and helpful.

Thumbs up! - Edit
Really enjoyed my trip to Zizzi Maidstone last night. Outside seating available but we chose to sit inside. Vegan menu available on request including starters, mains, sides, deserts and an alcohol list too!
Read moreWe started with the garlic bread which was really great and a bruscetta which was nice had didn't have hardly any pesto in it, so to be honest could have been better. For the mains we chose the vegan cheese pizzas and the vegan lentil linguine ragu which was very nice as well. For deserts we shared the chocolate torte with coconut ice cream (delicious)! We washed the meal down with a bottle of vegan white wine.
Really enjoyed the meal, we went with some vegetarian friends who loved the vegan garlic bread and the mains and also went crazy over the desert. Will def go back again in the not so distant future :) Thumbs up!
Pros: knowledgeable staff about veganism, good choice of food, Not too expensive
Cons: More pesto on bruscetta please
