You wouldn’t know it’s vegan - Edit
The mock meats are very close to the real thing, especially in the fried rice. My favorite dishes here are the curry, and the eggplant with potatoes. And they deliver which is a huge plus. I love the food here overall.

The best vegan place in Beijing - Edit
This was our favorite place along with The Vegetarian Tiger, the food was simply so delicious. Our favorite were "duck" pancakes, they were heavenly. We can't praise this place enough.

Delicate and delicious flavours - Edit
Curiously set within the grandstands of a sports stadium, this Buddhist restaurant serves a wide array of delicate dishes.
Read moreThere's a strong focus on fake meat and like substitutes.
Delicate flavours all round in the dishes we ordered, including the Temaki, the truffle fried rice and the braised aubergine.
The pan-fried dumplings are highly recommended.
Pros: Novel setting, Quality ingredients

Posh veggie restaurant - Edit
Loads of choice. Beautiful interior. Veggie and vegan options. Lots of wheat meat to choose from. Spring rolls, tofu skin rolls, kung pow chicken, steamed buns, dumplings. Nice waiters. We went with two kids aged 2 and 4 and they were very accommodating - kids plates, cups, chairs and they even gave them a toy each!

Good Food in Nice Setting - Edit
The menu is presented with images of the dishes and described in both Chinese and English. For some of the dishes, the English translation will not be that helpful as some of the words are not easily identifiable. We were impressed that the restaurant offers a very extensive selection including soup, stir fries, dim sum and desserts.
Read moreWe ordered the roasted chicken nuggets on a skewer, fried rice noodle with spinach and eggplant with fresh basil. The food was served promptly and the dishes were all very good. We selected the glutinous rice ball filled with black sesame paste for our dessert item and it was tasty and not too sweet. The bill came to 175 RMB which we felt was fair value for both the quality of the food and the dining ambience.
Take the Line 6 Metro to Yuanshen Stadium and you will see the stadium once you exit the station.

Excellent Zaozi Shu Tradition - Edit
This is one of four Vegetarian Lifestyle (Jujube, or Zaozi Shu) restaurants in Shanghai. They also have one located in Chengdu, and another one in Ningbo cities.
Read moreThe food is excellent, but the price tends toward the high end of the moderate range. The portions, though, are good sized (not exceptionally large).
This location we did not find anyone that spoke English. The menu, although in Chinese does have pictures and that should be sufficient.
The wait staff was quite pleasant and friendly.
They take Alipay (支付宝) which is handy.
Although convenient to get to via the #6 line, it may not be easy to find. Go to the north side of the Stadium, main entrance and take the elevator the the third floor.
Pros: Good food, price, and portion size, Easy to get to
Cons: Once at the stadium, not easy to find, May not speak any English, No English on menu

Love it! - Edit
We liked the food there, which is not too salty and no MSG. Very natural, and we noticed they did not use much of mocked meats. We happened to enjoy a rugby game on one afternoon as from outside the window we could see the stadium. It is also very near to one of the metro station.

so-so - Edit
Cute place with free wifi and friendly service. The night my friends and I came, two of the four dishes we ordered were unavailable, so we ordered based on the waitress's recommendations. Overall, the fare was heavy on mock meats and not altogether notable or elegant-- I remember few dishes that were mostly vegetables. I wouldn't bring finicky eaters here.
Read moreNot a bad meal at all, but just okay. Dumplings were our best dish, and a mock chicken curry was rich and as good or a little better than most veg curries in the city. The "fishy eggplant" is not eggplant nor is it fishy-- cabbage and mushrooms in a broth. Desserts are not altogether inspiring-- red bean cakes, papaya with something called peach glue?, etc.
Pros: friendly staff, good value
Cons: serves dairy, not enough vegetable dishes
