Spicy, but oh so good - Edit
The staff hardly spoke any English and we didn't really speak any Swedish at the time, so it was difficult to communicate.
Read moreWe dropped the word "vegan" and were immediately shown to a table. We didn't get a menu and were just given food. Due to the lack of communication, we think that the staff assumed we asked fod the vegan menu of the day.
I'm not saying that it was a bad thing, it just caught us by surprise. The food was very good, but very spicy.
Despite the communication problems, the staff was very friendly.
I highly recommend this restaurant. We're definitely going back (especially now that we speak Swedish).
Pros: Very good food!, friendly staff
Cons: Staff only speaks Swedish

Tasty food - Edit
I go to this restaurant often. They have really tasty food, most often with injera (pancakes with sour taste). They have a lot of vegan options. It could be a big expensive but I really think it’s worth it. The people working there are nice as well and it’s not too many people in the restaurant.

Oh it was delicious! - Edit
I went with a couple of friends there to try Eritrean food, which I really love. Zaion has a warm, cosy atmosphere well suited for romantic dinners, I would say. The meny has several vegan options - it was actually hard to choose! I eventually had the okra stew with injera (Eritrean yeasty "pancake") and it was delicious! My friends were also very happy with theirs, and we all had a great evening.

Authentic Eritrean Experience - Edit
Loving this Eritrean restaurant! They serve meat but cater to vegetarians and vegans and have an entire section on the menu dedicated to veggie dishes. They are thinking of adding even more (they have at least 8 or 9 now). Highly recommend the veggie platter which allows you to sample almost all of the dishes. Some staples include dishes with lentils, soy protein, mashed chick peas, greens, carrots and potatoes, and beets. This type of cuisine uses a spice called berbere which is a bit spicy. It is also eaten by using a special bread called injera. This is kind of like a crepe but it has a sourdough flavor. You use this to scoop up some of the food on your platter. If the owner is generous enough to offer you coffee, this is a special ceremony that is not usually shared with everyone and includes coffee prepared with ginger in a traditional way and is served with incense. I’ve been to countless Ethiopian and Eritrean places and never got to try it before. The decor is also really wonderful. The owner is also a really nice person. Highly recommend.

Pros: Authentic, Delicious , Veggie platter is great
Cons: Also serves meat
