Delicious Laksa

After reading the other reviews I had to try the Assam Laksa for myself, and it did not disappoint. Really flavoursome and a really nice level of spice. I had nutmeg juice too which was delicious, both for RM17.

Cons: Little expensive due to location but worth it!

Disappointing

We ordered the claypot rice, rendang with rice and lorbak.
The rendang was actually really tasty however it came with only 5 tiny pieces of potatoes and 1 mushroom!

The claypot itself was small and lacking in flavour. The lorbak was the best item we ordered and we would recommend this one snack if you’re in the area and would like to try it. However with all the amazing vegan food options around Penang, we personally wouldn’t recommend this place for anything else.

Cons: Tiny portions

Yep

I'm jumping on the bandwagon here. I thought people might have been exaggerating about the laksa, but nope, that is a seriously delicious bowl of assam laksa. A Definitely recommend.

Laksa was unreal value.

Best vege laksa I've had in Penang.

Pros: Great location and value.

Cons: None.

Delightful Vegetarian Penang eats!

Stumbled upon this place at Armenian Street and decided to try the Asam laksa as I’ve been wanting to try a vegetarian version of this local delicacy. It didn’t disappoint me!

Pros: Very yummy Asam laksa, Loh bak was very tasty, Easy to find location

Nice spot

Had the nyonya asam laksa which is served in a nice smaller portion (so you won't overeat), very tasty as well.

Ok

Middle of the range prices - 13 to 14 ringgit for fried rice, 7 to 9 for the desserts. Quantity of food was decent but taste was just ok. Quiet place - which is nice.

recommend Glutinous Rice Ball with Black Soya Milk

almost Vegan, some drinks have milk. We ordered a very Hong Kong-style steamed Chee Cheong Fun, but it has a little spice, very special; I personally recommend Glutinous Rice Ball with Black Soya Milk~

Not good at all!

The map location is wrong, this is on ARMENIAN street (misspelled).

No air conditioning, the front is open to the street.

The food was not good! I was so disappointed. Got the turmeric rice, which was tasteless. Got a noodle soup dish -- I think Asam Laksa -- the noodles were soggy and the toppings were sad. Got another noodle dish, also not good. Liked the loh bak at least.

The sister restaurant Yun Shan Ge is much much better!

Friendly staff, lots of vegan options

Quick and friendly service. It’s in a very touristy strip, so the prices are slightly higher than what you can get elsewhere, but it’s still really cheap. I got the laksa noodles for 8 RM - it was delicious! They also sell bottles of juice and coffee.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Quick and friendly service, Tasty food

Cons: A bit expensive for context and portion size

mediocre

It's a tourist area, so the prices are a bit higher, but still ok. Rice spring rol with curry was ok-ish, and I had much much better veggie laksa (also in Penang).

Great spot to have lunch whilst street art spotting!

I came across this place by accident, as I was wandering around this area on the hunt for the street art. It was a really cute little spot, perfect for refuelling in the heat and people watching. I had the Special of the Day which was a delicious curry with brown rice and the Nutmeg juice (definitely try this - it's home made!!). Portions were good sizes. The lady was very friendly.

Pros: Location for street art, Tasty!, Good vibes

Centrally located

This is a little eatery really centrally located in Georgetown's most touristy street... which is why it's so great that it's still cheap. They have a small menu, but the options are quite delicious. Try the steamed chee cheong fun, it's delicious!

Don't expect anything fancy, it's a simple place to fill your stomach cruelty-free.

Pros: Cheap, Relatively good food, Central location

Cons: Limited choice

yummy, a little expensive due to location

Laksa is delicious and so worthy trying with spring rolls (at waiter's suggestion)
Curry chee chong (I may have botched the name) was not - bland, needed more sauce.
Rojak - not my cup of tea but I'm sure someone else would love it.
The prices are a little high because it's on a very touristy street.

Pros: Malaysian cuisine , cool location

Humble restaurant

Small restaurant with a limited menu of Malay and more Western-style dishes. We had the clay pot rice, which was nice, and the curry burger, which was basic and not very spicy. Expected a bit more.

Good food

Tasty and affordable (7-8 RM for a main, 3-4 RM for sides) with friendly staff (gave suggestions on restaurant specialties and Malaysian eating customs).

Cons: Vegan items not marked
