云来集素斋馆 at 虹口区昆明路73号 serves traditional Chinese vegetarian snacks, noodle soups, and mock-meat dishes. Near the local temple Xia Hai Miao. The building looks like a temple. Menu is in Chinese but with pictures. Also sells packaged vegetarian food.

Good option - Edit
I was walking around the temple with a friend, and we decided to eat there. Good food, affordable prices, and quick service. I didn’t love the duck, but the spring rolls were incredible!

Good Chinese food at Bhuddist temple - Edit
I first tried going here for dinner on a weeknight and it was closed. Next day I went for lunch and found it to be open and popular. This place may not stand out amongst the many similar temple-adjacent veg restaurants around China, but it offers a satisfying and affordable meal

Prepared food was tasty - Edit
I only ordered two of the pre-prepared refrigerated dishes to go: the kaofu (烤麸) and vegetarian duck (素鸭). Both were quite good.
Read moreI should probably give this place 4 stars, because it's not like I was blown away, but then it's pre-packaged food, how good can that be, and I shouldn't penalize them for my choices.
They also sell packaged snacks, but be aware that very few are vegan.

AMAZING - Edit
The food here was delicious!! Located in the side building of the temple, it has an extensive menu with many mock meat options. Staff don't speak english but they have an English menu and you can easily point at what you want.
Read moreI had the mushroom teriyaki which honestly is the best thing I've eaten in China. It comes on a hot sizzling plate and serving size is very generous. My husband had the "meatballs" which were equally impressive. All vegan and incredible.
Please go here if you're in Shanghai, you won't be disappointed.

Great vegan spot! - Edit
This is an all vegan spot attached to a Buddhist temple. Nice interior, quiet, with a huge menu including pictures. Nothing special here but if you are in the area and want lunch this is a great place.

Excellent Lunch! - Edit
Enjoyed our lunch at Yun Lai Ji. Lunch menu is located on the wall and consists of noodle dishes. We highly recommend their wonton soup (Hundun; 混沌) as it is their specialty. But you need to make sure you get there early before its sold out! The lunch menu is on the wall, and there are pictures. You pay at the desk after ordering before taking your seat.
Read moreNote the restaurant is located through the gate on the east side of the main temple entrance. It looks as if you are entering the temple, but it is actually a separate building. The map location shown in the app is correct, but you will only see the name in traditional Chinese characters.
The staff is quite friendly, but a little frightened that they might not be able to communicate with a foreigner, (they do not speak English). If you speak a little Chinese you shouldn't have any problem.
We will definitely be back to try their dinner sometime!
Pros: Inexpensive, Pleasant Staff, Excellent cleanliness rating
Cons: No English spoken, Menu in Chinese
