Lied to

We have been going to Yindees for around 3 years. We went here initially because we read on other vegan forums that they offered authentic vegan Thai food. We were assured that the curries, when ordered with the tofu choice, were vegan. This also has a “v” on the menu. About a year ago I ordered my usual - a green curry - and noticed an overwhelming fishy flavour. I queried it and was told that the green curry automatically comes with fish sauce but that I had to specify vegan. So they made me another and it was a bit upsetting because I’ve ordering this for years and this was the first mention of this. Even though they recognise us (we’re a distinctive family) and pretty much know our order. We went back tonight and I was told that all the curries beside the yellow have always had shrimp in them! How totally outrageous to even have any v on this page of curries. It’s made worse by how much I checked in the beginning and how for years they have been feeding Cape Town’s vegans animal products. I am so so disappointed. It’s not difficult to have a vegan option of the paste. Simply Asia manages. But even if not, remove the v on the page if you are unwilling to offer genuine vegan choices.

great option

service was great and waiter was very accommodating and knowledgeable about what dishes were vegan and vegetarian. would totally go back, food was great

Great food, lovely staff

One of my favorite restaurants in CT, lots of vegan options and the food is spot on. The location is also super nice!
