Chicken’s not vegan!!!! - Edit
Having read some of the good reviews and seeing on their website that they cater for vegans we were excited to try the Thai food at Yim Siam.
Read moreOn arrival we told our waitress we were vegan and asked what was suitable on the menu (as nothing is marked). We were told from all the menu that just two dishes could be made vegan… neither of which sounded appealing. We asked if the Pad Thai could be made vegan as this was something we are used to having, it’s easy to use tofu instead of egg and usually when made fresh, chefs are happy to just omit the fish sauce… but no, not here! They had no tofu and ‘the sauce’ was not vegan. So they basically use a pre made sauce and could not make any adjustments to it.
The waitress went back to check to see if anything else could be made vegan. When she came back (second time checking) she told us the satay ‘chicken’ was vegan!!! We asked what the ‘chicken’ was? Assuming there was a vegan version but no.. it was regular chicken that she was claiming was suitable! Obviously at this point we had lost all faith in what she was saying.. suddenly she says that all the curries could be made vegan. Perhaps so, but we decided not to eat here and definitely wouldn’t go back.

Possibly the best Thai food. Great understanding of vegan food. Told us what we could and could t have. Most dishes were easy to adapt and we had the yummiest meal.

You can have Vegan options on almost of the food at this restaurant. The staff were very understanding, welcoming and tried very hard to give us lots of options. The food was delicious.

We went to this restaurant twice in our 10 days in Tenerife. We spotted "VEGAN" on the chalk boards outside one day and decided to pop in and ask. The manager was amazingly helpful in pointing out what could be made vegan. There were multiple options!
