Simple, delicious food

Had the satay chicken skewers, chicken in sweet and sour sauce, and some plain boiled rice.

Food was sublime - tasty, filling, and relatively cheap. Exchange rates on the day meant this meal and a can of cola cost me £13. Feels outrageous! Especially when you consider it's all organic.

Service was friendly, efficient, and not pushy. English is limited, but enough to take your order, ask about WiFi, etc. No problems.

I look forward to visiting again!

PS. They do take card. :)

BEST caifan

this place is a staple for me. the economical rice is by far the best thing here! they are very generous with their portions, and 3 sides with rice only costs $4. of course, the food is super tasty too 🥳
i’ve tried some of their a la carte dishes - nothing very impressive. caifan is far superior (:

A bit salty but delicious!

Small place like old style veg family restaurant
The food was good, a bit oily. Tasty drinks (herbal tea, canned soy milk)
I bought some veg snack and all was good!

Authentic experience

Great choice of authentic Asian cuisine in the heart of Chinatown. Some of the best Asian food my husband’s had (apparently!)
We chose spicy fried tofu, monkey mushrooms and crispy noodles - all delicious!
Fairly priced.

From info on the walls it looks like the family are involved in charitable causes- providing organic veg to the poor and elderly.

We left our backpack there, in error. They looked after it safely until we returned several hours later.

Pros: Great choice of food, Prompt service, Family run

Vegetarian for the people

Are you looking for an authentic restaurant that's not aimed at tourists but at locals? Look no further than "Yi Xin", although the name seems to be debatable. It is listed as "Yi Xin Vegetarian" food on Happy Cow while it clearly states "Yi Xin Vegan" on the building.

Being confused about this. I asked the owner which means were vegan and which vegetarian. It turned out the owner speaks very limited English and only knows some standard sentences to help foreigners. Luckily, a local came to the rescue and interpreted. It turns out the menu is in fact vegetarian, but most meals can easily be turned vegan. Taking a chance, I ordered "whatever you recommend" and received a big plate of noodles and vegetables. It was tasty and filling, although a bit on the fatty side.

Considering the authenticity, the low prices ($ 6 for a big plate) and the variety in the menu I do recommend you try Yi Xin. One word of warning: cash only.

Pros: authentic place where the locals eat, low prices, rich in taste

Cons: cash only, limited understanding of English

Best vegan restaurant in Singapore

The best completely vegan restaurant in all of Singapore. I had no cash with me, so the owners wanted to give me the food for free, because you can not pay with credit card. After I paid in euros, I got a packed lunch for the plane as a gift. Water was also free. Rarely experienced such loving and hospitable people. The food is incredibly tasty, large selection, good portions and very fair price.

Pros: Delicious, Portion, Price

Affordable Organic Dishes

Affordably priced vegan and allium-free local dishes featuring organic vegetables! They are known for their Penang Assam Laksa, but the other dishes I tried were good too. Personally would like to see more dishes that are not fried or stir-fried. Saw many people ordering their mixed veg economy rice too. Friendly staff! Conveniently located near Chinatown MRT Exit A.

Very delicious local food

I had dinner and breakfast in this place as my hostel was just in front, there is a generous offer of dishes, everything is vegan and very delicious. No a/c but there are fans (for me it’s a pro).
I did not find the staff rude as other people reported, maybe not the most friendly staff in Singapore😁

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cheap, Free Wi-Fi

Probably the best vegan tze char in all of Singapore!

A good variety of Chinese food be it one dish meals or a variety of items to go with white rice.

Pros: Fully vegan, Generous portion, Not stingy on ingredients

Cons: Avoid peak hours as it can be hard to get a seat

Tasty food, not so friendly service

The food was good and reasonably priced (I had satay screwers and dumplings), but the staff was a bit rude. I had to ask for cutlery a few times before getting any (with food already on the table), they didn't mention anything about possible drinks and they would have placed me at the worst table ever if I had not complained. I got a feeling that being a single non-Chinese woman wasn't very popular there...
