Relaxing atmosphere and accommodating staff

Stayed at Yasuragi for roughly 24 hours and had a lovely time. Had the a la carte dinner and received an amazing exotic fruit bowl for starter (this was upon my request as I like eating fruit before dinner - they also had a sushi maki roll with fancy stuff like sugar kelp, nachi pear and carrot aioli which looked great). Then I had a sort of second starter (again upon my request as I wasn't in the mood for dessert) consisting of fresh spring rolls. As a main I got a creamy shiitake risotto which was great, though I wished the portion had been bigger (but that might be because I eat a lot). For dessert I did see they served a wonderful-looking mousse with ginger crumble and blackberries and also a mango passion fruit sorbet.)

Breakfast buffet was one of the better. They had both oat and soy yoghurt with housemade müsli (which was oil-free!) and toppings like coconut flakes, nuts, seeds and dried fruit, coconut chia pudding, fresh green smoothies, lots of fresh fruit, bread (gluten-free also available) with vegetables and jams, salad and sprouts, cooked vegetables, mushrooms and rice and miso soup you could decorate with seaweed, scallions, edamame and tofu. Oat milk was available by the coffee and tea section. I wished they would have had more specifically Japanese breakfast options for vegans, but was still very happy with the big selection.

For lunch I had a poke bowl which honestly was quite lame and small, but that was probably my fault as I asked for food without sugar (and it didn't matter much as I ate so much for that breakfast buffet, haha). Also, I did see donburi black rice bowls with roasted broccoli and root celery, pickled cucumber, lotus root and edamame which seemed glorious and so did the vegan maki roll with avocado, shiitake, spring onion and chili mayo.

Being vegan at Yasuragi was easy and I would certainly recommend people to go. Hopefully we can raise the demand on more vegan dishes :)

P.S. Additionally they had zero problems with me not eating gluten, had fresh fruit available all the time and the staff was super kind and helpful.

You'll be full but not happy

Two of three restaurants offer vegan, so far so good. We were told the Miso soup was vegetarian and then told that it contains fish.
The main dish at one place is three huge pieces of tofu in sticky soy marinade with rice on the side, nothing else. Evening food was mushroom and rice dipped in same soy.
Expected more for the price and place trying to promote it's green and pro-climate work.

Pros: There were one starter and one main

Cons: Price , Absolutely ridiculous food, Little to no green, just tofu, soy and rice.

Great spa with authentic Japanese food

My wife and I have visited this spa twice which is testament to how much we enjoy it. The spa facilities are superb and the food is very good. There is a buffet breakfast then a Japanese style a la carte lunch and evening meal. Although the selection is limited to one or two dishes per course, all is very good, and every bit as good as the food I’ve had in Japan.

The only thing to be aware of is that the menu doesn’t change from day to day. If you’re staying for a couple of days then you’ll have to be happy to eat the same things.
