Plant-based Shawarma was delicious! - Edit
I've ordered from Yassin's before but it had been quite awhile and this was my first time trying this location. I saw that they had added a plant-based Shawarma sandwich to their menu. I'm so glad I tried it, it was absolutely delicious! Hearty, filling, and flavorful - much tastier and a better value than the vegan shawarma from that "formerly all vegan" place downtown.

Our local favorite - Edit
This is our go-to Mediterranean restaurant in west Knoxville, and definitely the friendliest place in town. We love the new vegan shawarma! It’s a big portion, my wife and I usually split one. We also love the falafel wraps and salads. We always buy extra baklava to take home and keep in the freezer for a treat.

so good i could cry - Edit
okay, so, going to yassin’s falafel house was my first time ever trying mediterranean food, and let me just say, it was amazing. i got the plant-based shawarma plate, which came with a plant-based protein, rice, hummus, tahini sauce, pita, and a drink. the hummus was probably the best i’ve ever had, and i loved the rice and plant-based protein. there’s also some sort of plant-based protein sandwich which i really want to try. so in conclusion, please go get yourself a plant-based shawarma plate!!!! (i would eat here every day if i could)

Friendliest Restaurant in America - Edit
This restaurant has gotten a lot of National Press in the last few months, all for a great reason. Yassin, a Syrian immigrant, is the kindest and friendliest person and has opened two locations with very good food. The falafel is vegan and there are other vegan options on the menu as well. The tahini sauce is vegan too. The baklava is also vegan-no honey, no butter and it is fresh and scrumptious.
Read moreYassin promotes openness, kindness and acceptance of all. He was also featured on national news recently for offering free meals to federal workers during the gouvernement shutdown. He was one of the first businesses to do so.

Yassin’s cedar bluff location - Edit
I’m a regular at the downtown location so I was already a fan! But I was super excited to hear they were opening a location in cedar bluff. Their grand opening was last night at 5pm but we waited until the next day to check it out. We got there around 12pm and the tables were pretty full but there were only three people in line. We got a spicy falafel plate with extra pita, a side of fries and a spicy falafel salad. The food took a little longer than I’m used to but they were packed! The food was amazing as always. Maybe even better! The fries were perfectly cooked and had that delicious spice. The falafel was even a little spicier. Everything tasted fresh. Well worth the wait! As we were leaving close to 1pm, the line had gotten insane! People were waiting for tables and the line stretched from the pickup area to the door. It was great to see so many people supporting Yassin’s! Between this location and downtown we will be eating a lot more falafel!
