Fantastic South Indian food - Edit
This place was phenomenal. The medu vada was so light and fluffy, instead of heavy and greasy. Excellent dosas—crisp and flavorful with good fillings. And the samosa chaat was great too. Wish I lived near here because I would go all the time.

new location in Garfield - Edit
We were at Mysore's buffet and we're lucky enough to sit next to someone who understood what vegan meant. Delicious food! At Woodlands, they don't speak good English and we ended up with yogurt on our plate. My only other negative comment is that they should indicate heat levels. Some of our food was too hot (spicy) for us, while others were not. Best to look at pics before coming if you are vegan.

Excellent. authentic South Indian - Edit
Mysore Woodlands turned out to be a pleasant surprise in the middle of nowhere. After Saravanna Bhavan in Manhattan this is the first truly authentic south Indian restaurant I have found in the tri state area. The menu is varied and very reasonably priced as all South Indian restaurants. The only downside was the woeful service. For a restaurant of this size thay had one waiter, one busboy and one hostess / owner doing all of the order taking and serving. Clearly they were going to have problems. But they were quite cheerful about it. Go try it, if you are in the neighborhood.

Fantastic, cheap Indian food - Edit
We went to Mysore Woodlands and were really impressed. The buffet (with bonus chat AND dosa or uttapam on Tuesday and Friday, when we went) was $12/each, and the food was really good. They were able to point out which items were vegan and which were not with no trouble, and were happy to make vegan dosas and uttapam for us. The amount of food was pretty incredible, we got two full meals each out of it for pretty cheap.
Read moreIt was a bit tricky to find, it's on the north side of rt 46 (you have to be heading west to turn into it); and "russo plaza" doesn't have a sign with that name so you just have to look for the woodlands sign.
Pros: Cheap, Vegan-Friendly, Delicious
