I’ve had carry out at wizard burger many times and this place never disappoints. Burgers as is are impossible burgers, which I don’t eat, but thankfully you can replace any burger patty on the menu with fake crispy or grilled chicken. Haven’t gotten to try the tots or milkshakes but I assume they’re just as good as the sandwiches. Best vegan food in the Albany area

It was a Monday night and were heading for Hollow Bar, but they were closed. We saw people sitting at Wizard Burger across the street, but I assumed it was meat and didn’t even think about it. I opened HappyCow snd immediately found their listing. Vegan burgers? What?!?

We started with the chili tater tots, and I have to say, as a former vegan who isn’t terribly fond of vegan cheese, I was still really impressed. The “cheese” sauce was addictive and the chili was excellent. And tater tots, I mean, it’s hard to mess those up, amirite?
So after demolishing the tots, we moved on to our entrees. I got the Cluckerella mostly because it didn’t have vegan cheese. It was sooooo good. Oh my. A delicious grilled faux chicken patty, with salty crispy fakin’ bacon, dripping with beautifully spiced ranch dressing which got all over my fingers in the best way. I rarely eat all of any bun but this one was totally saturated with dressing at the end, making it irresistible.
My husband got the Orc Popper, which looked to me as if it had the entire kitchen in it: an Impossible patty, onion rings, vegan cream cheese AND American cheese, and some sort of mystery sauce called Melba which tasted like jam and ran all over the place. I have never seen his beard so festooned with various sauces and neither of us minded one bit.
We paired our outrageous noms with a bottle of Tinto Rey rosé because that is how we roll, people.
This was just the best kind of vegan comfort food. It’s the experience you miss when you choose a more animal-friendly lifestyle, without the guilt. The tin foil wrapped sammies, the naughty fried potatoes. Its all here in Albany. Now go get yourself some.

Wizard burger hits that greasy late night spot with awesome sandwiches and sides. There are no surprises here, processed meat substitutes on buns with condiments. They just do it really really well!

I’m so happy to have found this place. I drive over an hour to get here. The burgers and chicken sandwich are delicious! Recently they had chicken wings with your choice of sauces. The Buffalo sauce was so good! And they recently had a chocolate milkshake that was amazing! So happy and thankful! Yum 😋

This place is fantastic and I hope they do really well. I had the Magic-ano (Impossible burger with pulled pork bbq) and my wife had The Raptor (chick'n filet with ranch dressing). We also had tater tots and deep fries pickles... everything was perfect. Owner was very friendly and said they'll soon have milkshakes! They have a spacious indoor dining area.

Ordered online and had them deliver. The food was delicious and very filling! Absolutely LOVED the Magic-año. The large portion of tots are very filling. I had the chili-cheese tots and they were good and spicy, as was the Mumbai Jumbo. We also LOVED the Pixie Swarm dessert!
