Wonderful Willow - Edit
No need for any vegetarian to go hungry in Totnes. There is a marvellous veg sandwich shop called "Seeds" just down the road, a plethora of shops selling fair trade and green goods and then there is Willow, a super cafe with friendly staff and a beautiful garden to sit and eat in when the sun shines. Good food too and, despite what someone has suggested below, not expensive compared with the rest of Devon at all.

Was worth our rare revisit - Edit
We don't visit a restaurant twice that often, especially if there are more options to go to locally. But we really enjoyed Willow!
Read moreLovely place, changing menus everyday, fresh and tasteful salad that comes with most items on the menu, friendly staff, great tasting food and finally a place that doesn't need to use big bags of salt to make their food taste good. Even the soup wasnt overly salted, but very tasty!
And the prices are very reasonable.
Couldn't recommend it any more.
Just one obvious downside: not fully vegan. Which they could easily do, considering the items on the menu.
Pros: Great food, Low salt usage, Lovely place with friendly staff
Cons: Not vegan

Delicious moussaka - Edit
Visiting for the day & a local friend recommended we meet here. It was easy to find at the top of the hill. The lovely little well-established courtyard dining area was sheltered & our chihuahua was welcome.
Read moreThe staff were very friendly and helpful & service was great. Two of us had the moussaka & one had the vegan Irish Stew & dumplings. Both came with a really good selection of salads & at £11.50 seemed very fairly priced. We had a German Hemp Beer with it & a Pukka tea. The moussaka was delicious, perfectly done! Would definitely recommend & will return on our next visit.
Thank you 💚
Pros: Quite a few interesting vegan options, Dog friendly, Nice sunny courtyard garden or eat inside
Cons: It'd be perfect if it were entirely vegan!

Great service and reasonably priced. - Edit
Lovely lunch in the garden. Soup was lovely and veg options came with muffins or scones. Vegans had to make do with pitta. Light lunch looked lovely. Vegan options were all a bit run of the mill- falafel and chick pea curry. Shame as everything feasted great. On the plus side there were loads of vegan cakes.

Great vegetarian restaurant - Edit
We went on a Saturday evening, I like that the menu is not too big as it is all made at Willow. Lovely dips & olives for our starter & delicious vegan mousaka for our main. Lovely guitar being played added to the atmosphere- really enjoyable evening.

Just what we needed - Edit
Having spent the morning walking and driving around South Devon the soup of the day and jacket potato with baked beans was just what we needed. Delicious, simple and filling vegan food. Definitely worth a visit in a town where vegans actually have a good selection to choose from.

Good choice of vegan dishes - Edit
A pleasant restaurant with good food and a choice of vegan dishes. Was able to provide gluten free vegan dishes, although a wider range would be welcome. We enjoyed the Friday night music. We would encourage the restaurant to become fully vegan.

Awesome Place - Edit
I ate here twice during my holiday, once in the evening and once during the day. The food choice is really good, and the food we had was very nice! We had the Mushroom Stroganoff and Ghanaian stew. The staff were lovely, I just wish there were more places like this to eat for my Vegan girlfriend and I.

Good homemade food - Edit
Hot meals served until 2:30 pm. Patio out back. On my first visit I had a tasty spinach-coconut soup (vegan) with nice bread (non-vegan scone available) and choice or mix of three salads in three sizes, £7.50 total with the small-size salad plate. Another day, I enjoyed the Gypsy Casserole on brown rice: apricots, zucchini, chickpeas, other vegetables – a satisfying meal.

Lovely Hippy Place - Edit
This little spot has a wonderful atmosphere and I can see why so many people like to come here. The food is great and the salads are so tasty and interesting and even the coleslaw is vegan. They have a number of tasty vegan after dinner treats too. It has a hippy feel to the place which fits in with the town of Totnes.
Read moreThey are also open late which is unusual for Totnes. They sell alcohol including organic beers and wines.
Pros: A lot of vegan options, Fast service, Open late
Cons: Slightly pricey

Shabby Chic & Wholesome - Edit
I first visited the Willow in Totnes, Devon in June 2007 with some friends who were regulars. I'm really fussy about hygeine and I like my food to be 'homemade', tasty and unique. I genuinely enjoyed the Willow and have since been back several times. They always have lots of wholesome, earthy treats on offer both sweet and savory and there is an emphasis on organic produce in most things, which is a plus. The decor is that of a comfortable, competant and chic surf shack, so the walls are clad with wood and displays of local artworks decorate the walls. Caters to dreadlocked hippy types to squeaky clean big city palates so all vegans/vegetarians or curious carnivores should like this casual eatery.
Read morePros: Interesting dishes, Proper homemade cakes, Emphasis on organic
Cons: Can get crowded at times, The loo is tiny and pokey
