Pretty awful

Went here to celebrate my first Mother’s Day, my poor husband was so disappointed as he wanted to plan a special brunch. The waitress forgot to put our order in, so after waiting 45 minutes I followed up and they rushed it out. Our vegan breakfasts were soggy, unseasoned and very bland. They forgot to put the relish on the side. Everything was either over or undercooked, and pretty tasteless. Avoid and go visit the vegan cafe up the road instead (who are consistently excellent!).

Cons: Bland food, Waitress forgot about us, No atmosphere

Nature cafe bar was vegan up until very recently when they became vegetarian due to the devastating and overwhelming pressure in the hospitality industry :(

Nature cafe bar has always been vegetarian, they have always served dairy (and apparently honey), they always chose to be vegetarian. Dairy was always the default option for hot drinks. Plant based people have a habit of calling vegetarian eateries, vegan in happycow reviews, even when happycow clearly states that the eatery is vegetarian. Nature cafe bar have now chosen to take another step away from ethics and add eggs to their menu.

Genuine question, would you prefer a place like this not exist at all? Because after speaking to the owner, that was the alternative. I personally wouldn’t go into the hospitality business for fear of these issues, but to me the existence of places like this is the step in the right direction that we need.

Genuine answer, were this business to disappear, it would allow the possibility of an ethical business to take its place. While not a certainty, that would be a lot more likely if nature cafe bar did not exist.
Will you still be defending them when they decide to sell bacon to go with the eggs?
The owner has never shown any sign of wanting to do the right thing by animals, or the community. Ironically, they have relatives in New Zealand, who last I knew ran a legitimately vegan cafe.
