Vegans beware - Edit
This restaurant has quite a few vegan options. We ordered two vegan dishes. As I was eating, I felt a different texture in my mouth. It was a chunk of meat! The restaurant was not very accommodating after we found the meat in our vegan dish. Will never eat here again.

Great Vegan Thai Options - Edit
Wow this place is delicious! They are also fully aware of the vegan lifestyle and even have a check mark option to make items vegan when ordering online. Had the curry basil noodles and craving it again the next day.

Excellent, flavorful Thai food - Edit
The food was wonderfully flavorful and the "spicy" option was actually spicy. The curry basil noodles were especially delicious. The fries papaya small plate was also really tasty. Vegan options were clearly marked on the menu.

Comfort food - Edit
Sought after spot in Bend! We picked it up to go and we’re happy with our selection. Many options to chose from. We enjoyed the Pad Tuah. Great mix of vegetables married with the perfect sauce, and paired with a flavor packed brown rice. Would order and again and hope to visit in the future to try more!

Some of the best Thai food I have had. The staff was super knowledgeable and could quickly tell you what wasn’t vegan in sauce etc. A pretty substantial offering with clear markings.

Best Thai food I have ever had. - Edit
(Would be 5 stars if it would let me) I have been vegan for 7 years. This meal was a truly special experience. Incredible flavor and service. The waiter thanked me for telling him the whole order would be vegan in advance. We tried the fresh papaya salad, the basil curry noodles, and grandfathers Tom Kha. Delicious. Also they had partitions due to the pandemic that we appreciated.

How is this even on Happy Cow? - Edit
There were only 7 vegan options total, most of which being soups or duplicates of previous options with slight differences. The waiter was also a little rude when we asked about the vegan options and then said we would have to leave as there were not enough variety for our family of four.

Little Gem - Edit
Several vegan options, about 5, but the ones that are vegan blew my mind. Most glass noodles are bland, but the service ones here are done right. Get the grandfather’s Tom Ka!

Ever since leaving Bend to live in Idaho, we have been trying to find a place on par with Wild Rose. It is our favorite, such a stunning variety, and so many vegan choices.

Vegan dishes clearly labeled and very delicious. The smells and flavors remind me of being in Thailand. So good. I tried to give 5 stars but the app won't let me because they aren't vegetarian enough!

Picking the meat out doesn’t make a dish Vegan. - Edit
We dined here for our anniversary and really enjoy the restaurant and staff. The food was flavorful but very heavy in oil. As wfpb eaters we avoid oil as a rule and what the dishes lacked in meat they more than made up for in oil. That said, the flavors were good and the service was friendly. We haven’t been back but many other locals love this spot. If your Vegan this place has some not so legit options and you can dine with mixed company, but if your plant based for health, it’s a no go. We make better/healthier Tom Kha at home. To each their own, no judgment, just an honest review from our wfpb perspective. ✌🏻My dish, specifically ordered “Vegan”, had two large pieces of shrimp shell in it: just beware of cross contamination, especially if allergies are in play.

First, I would like to say the customary "I would give it zero stars if I could."
Read moreThank you.
Now that that's out of the way, my review:
I went with a party of 11, consisting of Three Vegans (including Myself), four Vegetarians, and four meat-eaters. It was a weekday dinner, but we were still seated fairly quickly. Off to a great start! I was also very happy to see that there were vegan options.
This is where things took a turn. There were two soups and two appetisers, which was fine. The problem was that there was only one dish that was vegan (when ordered with tofu), and many that *seemed* vegan had fish sauce in them.
Upon inquiring if any of said dishes could be made vegan, we were told (by a waiter who was a tad on the rude side, I might add) that removing the fish sauce would 'ruin the authenticity'. So basically, no.
(There are two vegan lunch entrees, but that didn't help because it was dinner).
Our group then decided that we should probably go somewhere else for dinner. We apologised to the waiter, who responded in a somewhat rude and sarcastic manner which we were not at all pleased with.
As you might expect, 11 people seated in the centre of a busy restaurant suddenly getting up and leaving for no apparent reason might cause some confusion. Once all of us were out the door, a woman asked us what was wrong, and we proceeded to tell her about being vegan and all that sort of thing. She said that she was sorry that we couldn't eat there as she quite likes it. Too bad the people working at the restaurant weren't as friendly as the customers.

not always vegan - Edit
Wild Rose's menu is fantastic, they do have a little v next to any dish that can be made vegan. I ate here when I was a carnivore and the food was always amazing and then when I became vegan I had to cut back on the dishes I could choose from which was fine but my last visit was disappointing. I ordered the vegan gang om, and I found a shrimp tail in my dish...no body, just a tail...what happened to the rest of him? How did just his tail end up in my food? I guess I have to advise others to be cautious when eating here.
