A small cafe and kayak shop with a focus on sustainability which serves healthy food and drinks like raw protein balls, salads and smoothies, as well as toasted sandwiches and sweet treats. Vegan items are not clearly labeled but the owners know about veganism so can offer advice on the daily offerings. Options include raw cakes, peanut butter & banana bagels, smoothies and avocado & tomato toasted sandwiches. Try the avocado & tomato toasted sandwich (ask for no butter) and the green smoothie. This is the kind of place where you have to communicate a lot with the person serving you, as when you walk in you're greeted straight away and talked through the menu (unless you want a kayak I guess!).
Read moreAfter talking through the vegan options (and stopping myself from ordering a raw carrot cake), I went for the avocado & tomato toasted sandwich with a green smoothie filled with all sorts of healthy stuff. Both were tasty and felt healthy. I think they usually cover the toasted sandwiches with butter, so make sure to inform them if you're vegan not to do this!
