Food Pretty Good, Service Not So Much, No Coffee - Edit
Heaps of vegan options available, but some of the cakes taste a bit iffy due to the carob clashing with other flavours (notably peppermint.) Most cakes, however, are delicious.
Read moreOne major problem is the atmosphere. It feels very stark, and I've walked in and been ignored more than once. It can be very disconcerting either trying to shop around diners, or trying to find while people shop around you. Also, when there is a school group, they block access to the counter and ignore customers entirely.
The cafe has now stopped selling coffee, and instead offers an overly sweet substitute made from date pits. I'm not a fan.

Fabulous place! - Edit
A spacious, clean, welcoming place with very healthy, organic plant-based whole food & beverages & a some delish cabinet food options. Relax at a table to eat, surrounded by a great range of whole foods you can buy at very reasonable prices. This is a charity-run place where staff also do great service in the community, teaching young people how to grow, prepare, cook and serve plant based food. As for their bread - don't leave without buying a loaf or two. It's the best wholegrain bread you're likely to find anywhere. I'm just realising I'm raving so much you'd think I had a vested interest in the place; I don't. This is not just great plant-based food - it's real healthy.

Absolutely Brilliant on all Accounts!!! - Edit
Best chickpea curry ever with a refillable bowl. Very good value. Also brought an amazingly good whole grain sprouted sourdough bread that was super hearty and nourishing. Great food PLUS they are non-profit and share their knowledge with young people in both the growing and preparing of the meals. Well done. We will be back.

Best Vegan Cafe in Palmy - Edit
Best fully vegan cafe in Palmerston North!!! They are organic, ethical and environmentally conscious. They are a registered charity that runs like a business- they’re non-profit.
Read moreThe pizzas are my favourite, they’re so yum! But they don’t always have the pizza oven going! They have yummy menu of salads, smoothies, juices, different toast options (tofu scramble, carob spread, fruit, mushrooms) and more! and sometimes they have waffles!!
They have a range of cabinet treats too, I love the berry cheese cake!
They also do a range of vegan baked breads and have a range of seed bread they sell NZ wide in health stores!
They share all their recipes online.
They also do occasional dinners which are a set menu, I’ve been to 2 and they were amazing both times!!
Service is great, the staff are knowledgeable and happy to discuss anything!
They also teach school age kids about growing food, sustainable food and healthy cooking!
There is an awesome range of organic produce to purchase, fruits and vegetables which they grow on their local farm. Alongside vegan yoghurts, frozen soups and ice cream, house made nut butters, sauces, condiments and vegan cheezes, tofu, tempeh. A range of GF pastas, flours, grains, seeds, house made crackers and biscuits, cereals etc...
I’d recommend bringing your takeaway own cup/ straw for smoothies/ juices and take away containers to reduce waste as they are happy to use these!
Ask for no straw 😊
note they stop cooking hot foods 3pm... only open weekdays
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Knowledgeable and friendly staff, Best pizza in palmy
Cons: Not open weekends , Use carob a lot which is yuck , Can be pricey

Beautiful experience - Edit
Very health orientated, environmentally aware (all takeaway items made of biodegradable material). Cafe with only plant based food (except honey in teas), a colourful selection of sweet treats, breakfast and lunch menu with pizzas, various toast meals and a special soup or meal of the day, dinner service Wednesdays and Thursdays, wholefood shopping (also in bulk), fresh regional produce, organic wholegrain bakery, training kitchen, online shop, organic garden. Great service! Going there is always an experience and the bright and spacious setup is very inviting. Open kitchen so you can see everything that's going on.
Read morePros: high quality food beautifully presented, dedicated to health, many gluten free options, great service, everything available takeaway
