Had high hopes for this but disappointed

Too much going on with the menu, which is confused and confusing.

A mixture of Chinese, Indian and English - raw and cooked - food, which is not cohesive.

The setting is smart and modern, but the food does not live up to the hype, unfortunately.

Pros: First veggie restaurant in Staines, High street location, Community spirit

Cons: The food, I'm sorry to say

Good Food

This place is relaxing the staff is very friendly and the food is very tasty. I do wish that the food was a little less oily, the taste is so wonderful and does not need so much oil. Portions are a little small as well. Most of the menu is vegan and we enjoyed our experience in the restaurant. We did order some food to go and many items were missing and one of the items the sweet potatoes tasted like they had butter on them so we didn't eat them. I think eating in as a vegan is the best. I noticed for our take away order the kitchen staff changed, so maybe some dairy was put in that one dish by mistake, but it is those moments that make me not want to return for thinking there could be other errors made. I do wish the place would go fully vegan, cream sauces can be made with coconut milk very easily and eggs can be replaced with tofu very easily as well. Then this place would be fully cruelty free and in line with the yoga, ahimsa, and peace they wish to create in the world.

Pros: delicious, ambiance, food, yoga, meditation

Cons: oily

Feeling Fed to be Alive and at Peace

Stumbled across this gem for lunch. Above all the energy was calming and the food of exceptional quality (no nasties, no dodgy oils, etc). Really friendly staff. The only suggestion I'd make is to have a simple menu system as the food speaks for itself.

Pros: Food. Nourishing.

Cons: Too many options.

Fantastic!Food+everything else

I was craving Chinese food the other day, especially dumplings and buns, which turned out to be so tasty in this restaurant. Nice waiter and comfortable environment. A really nice space for chatting or relaxing.

Excellent dinner and lovely ambiance.

We were lucky to stumble upon WGT in Staines. We had the set menu for the day and were delighted by the flavors and textures of the meal. The tea egg was a real nice and tasty surprise.

Pros: very flavorful vegetarian dishes

Interesting menu

Didn't expect to find a fine dining veggie restaurant in "Ali G town" but here we are! Interesting Asian menu. I had a stir fry of green beans and Chinese olive leaves. Wut? It was a bit like spinach, those olive leaves. I don't know how they managed to flavour something as simple as green beans to taste so good! It came with some sort of buns which were sweet but somehow worked very well with it. Only wish the portion had been bigger!

Lovely Asian music playing. The place was pretty quiet too, so it was very relaxing.

Yum!

I visited WGT with my friend's North Surrey Vegetarians & Vegans group recently. I'd wanted to go for a while, and I wasn't disappointed! The food was really nice, and there're were plenty of Vegan starters and mains to choose from, and the set meals can be Vegan by having tofu instead of egg. I had the sour and spicy mushrooms, with the rice cake, and some steamed dumplings and buns (we did share things together). Some of the things were like nothing I've ever had before! For desert we had a coconut jelly type of thing-I can't remember the name!

Pros: Lovely food & lot of options, Nice decor

Cons: No Vegan wine (they're working on it), Not many Vegan deserts

Delicous food with plenty of vegan options

The beautiful restaurant was pretty empty when I visited, but it definitely deserves more customers! Super delicious food with lots of unusual options. It is all vegetarian and most of it is vegan. I had the menu of the day which was super tasty.

Pros: Beautiful decor, Delicious food, Plenty vegan options

Cons: Only one vegan dessert

The restaurant is well designed. Very modern and clean. Lots of space. Parking close by. The food menu is little confusing but the waitress helped and was very polite. The food was very tasty and everything you tell is fresh and has amazing taste.

Pros: lots of vegan options food is delicious

Cons: little bit on the pricy side
