Hours not updated on this site. - Edit
Showed up at 11:30 on a Saturday only to find out that they won’t open until 3pm. Anyone coming to Albuquerque should call before going anywhere. Most of the restaurants I wanted to try that are listed here as having vegan options are either out of business, have limited their menu, or are closing much earlier than indicated.

Cons: Not open.

We are in the middle of a pandemic and you are visiting from out of state. New Mexico currently has a mandatory 14 day quarantine for out of state visitors. Instead of getting upset that small, locally owned vegan businesses have to change their hours or menus to stay afloat, just stay home.

Super good breakfast - Edit
Good vegan breakfast is hard to come by so I was super happy to have found this place. The No Huevos Rancheros were delicious and flavorful. Lots of tasty vegan lattes and such as well.

Terrible location - Edit
How can a vegan eatry share a location with a beef jerky shop? The smell of meat was so overpowering. Wanderlust wasn’t even open when we went. They had a sign on there counter saying it was closed today. I don’t think I can stand to go back because the smell. It was absolutely disgusting.

Excellent desserts, lunch, everything! - Edit
Love, love, love this place. Hard to pick favorites but the 505 philly, blue corn piñon doughnut (not always available, desserts rotate often) and red velvet latte are some of the standouts for me. Oh and the breakfast burrito- the quinoa chorizo is the bomb, so spicy and filling! The cafe drinks are great and I love that they have so many non caffeinated options. The only downside is the limited hours, I’m hoping if I visit often enough they’ll be able to expand soon!

Disappointed - Edit
My husband and I decided to try out Wanderlust. I had the Campfire French Toast and most of the bread was burnt and very hard so those parts of the meal were trashed and inedible. It didn't taste like French toast at all.
Read moreMy husband had the No Huevos Rancheros which he described as good. Would have been much better if they used red or green chile rather than salsa. Also the potatoes were over cooked and seemed like they deep fried in old wore out oil.

Yum! - Edit
We arrived as they opened for breakfast. Today’s chef special was Lavender Lemon Pancakes! So good! I also enjoyed the Golden milk. My husband enjoyed the Savory Mesa Pancakes. It was a real treat to have the entire menu vegan. We got beautiful bakery items to try later.

Vegan New Mexican Foods! - Edit
We had the waffles and no huevos for brunch along with one of every dessert in the case and coffee. Waffles were savory with great chili, potatoes, and tasty facon. The no huevos has great texture and flavor. All the desserts were amazing! The atmosphere is very New Mexican and although it shares space with a jerky place, everything is thoughtfully kept separate.

Thank You! Will stop by. What is the dish with the burger and fries with the orange sauce in pic 3? Does the "steak and cheese in pic 4 taste like all meat*?

Vegan eatery - Edit
Decided to stop here on my return leg a road trip to see what vegan restaurants in Albuquerque. Close to the I40, the eatery shares a food court style space with a non-veg restaurant. I choose the tacos, big mistake, ridiculously too spicy for me, headache & sweat inducing😥, couldn't eat them, & potatoes were overcooked, & a bit greasy, I hate wasting food, but necessary to avoid any emergency stops 😉. The no huevo rancheros were pretty good, thank goodness not as spicy as the tacos. Overall great location, local fare, parking is ok, busy street, will visit again, just no spicy tacos for me 😌

Cons: Not noted, tacos are WAAAY too spicy.

Amazing food and even better owners - Edit
So here's the skinny:
Read moreThis place is like a food court. There's 2 restaurants under one roof but with completely separate kitchens. The owners of the Jerky restaurant are the parents of the owners of wanderlust. So it's basically 2 sperate family owned restaurants in one building. The owners spoke with us for a while and they're amazing people. I hope to see this place open more in the future.
Now for the food:
We got the "campfire" French toast which was so amazing. Not too sweet but so yummy and a wonderful mix of flavors!
We also got the "hefty" breakfast burrito smothered, and it was awesome! It was spicy but so so flavorful! It's a must have.
We also got a s'mores cupcake, which is quite possibly the BEST cupcake I've ever had. She needs to be on cupcake wars!
All in all this place is simply the best and I wish we lived here so we could come back!
Pros: All the vegan options are amazing.
Cons: None, is amazing.

Perfect for the whole family! - Edit
Fantastic couple and great food! Completely vegan. They have breakfast lunch coffee dessert and kid meals. Parking in very limit on site but plenty place to park near by. Dont be alarmed that it's 2 business under one roof! Wanderlust is completely vegan and has its own separate kitchen and there is also a Mexican place in the same place serving meat and Jerky with its own kitchen and one common area for everyone. It's clean and nice for vegans and non vegans to get what the want under one roof. Try the tacos it's a must!

Delicious! - Edit
We enjoyed the burger and cheese steak. The burger had a pleasantly spicy sauce, and the cheese steak is 505 style-with green chile on top. Both were flavorful and nutritious. Will definitely be back to try more. Glad to have another vegan restaurant here!
