Vegan Caesar Salad - Edit
A nice vegan option right off the Royal Mile. There was plenty of seating options for groups and individuals. Service was lovely and kind. I had the vegan caesar salad with tea and oat milk. The salad was fine but if was mostly croutons (homemade) seconded by vegan chicken and vegan cheese. Underneath all this was a bit of spinach spring mix and some tomatoes. Not a great option if you are looking for a fresh and healthy salad but a decent and tasty lunch all the same.

Best vegan breakfast - Edit
We had the full vegan breakfast and it was just delicious! The dish checked all boxes to complete the full scotch breakfast! You could choose between eggs or avocado, the vegan sausage and vegan haggis were one of the best we had so far!
Read moreWe shared afterwards a plate of sweet crêpes! It was amazing, too!
The armosphere and location are perfect for a visit. You can sit down, enjoy your meal or just a coffee and watch the people passing by :)
The service was a big plus! She was a happy bundle of joy!
We hardly wanted to leave!
So a warmly recommendation for this place! 4 stars as 5 aren‘t possible
Pros: Delicios meals, Good variety of vegan options, Cozy atmosphere

Tasty - Edit
Popped into this place for a late lunch. It was very quiet and peaceful after the frantic hubbub of the Royal Mile. Opted for the Vegan NY Chick’n wrap, which was delicious. Nice staff, would go here again.

Really good and very nice staff - Edit
The vegan breakfast was big and delicious, and very fulfilling. We shared that and the porridge between two people. The porridge was comforting and served at perfect temperature. The drinks were also very good, the juice felt fresh.

So disappointed and overpriced for what we got . - Edit
We visited here back in 2023 and had the unique vegan crepes. What can I say about them! They were absolutely incredible. So much so that I was thinking about them for a full year and waited for another opportunity to visit Edinburgh and visit the cafe.
Read moreCame back this time only to be told that they no longer do a vegan menu but they have a few options on the meat/dairy menu. I was really upset by this but decided to try the full vegan. Imagine my chagrin when i was given one link sausage, about 4 beans, half an avocado and not enough spread for my tiny bits of toast. I had to give my husband my apple juice which was all pulp. To cap it off, the bill came to £39. I’ll pay whatever but it has to be fair. I think charging that for a tiny breakfast is a total cheek. I won’t darken the door again. So disappointed.
Pros: It was quiet (no wait for a table), Clean
Cons: Overpriced , Mostly meat menu , Not a single vegan pudding

Mediocre food, small vegan choice - Edit
We had lunch at Wanderlust because it was close to where we were and we had seen that it had four stars on HappyCow, but we were disapponted and should have read the more recent reviews first. There is not a large choice of vegan food anymore and all of the vegan lunch dishes are based on mock chicken, so we had the vegan breakfast for lunch (we don‘t enjoy mock chicken). This would have been ok because a traditional Scottish breakfast can be very filling, however, the food was mediocre or even worse. It arrived after a few minutes and was clearly just warmed up. It all lacked taste and seasoning and we did not finish our meals although we still felt hungry.
Read moreMy husband had the lemonade which was ok. I had the peach iced tea which had almost no flavour and tasted like infused water. Moreover, the staff were not that welcoming.
This place looks so cute from the outside but with so many restaurants to choose from in Edinburgh, we would not go here again.

Mediocre and limited vegan options - Edit
I stopped at this café mostly because I was intrigued by the vegan crepes mentioned in the description here, but there were no such crepes available. The server said that the batter had dairy in it and there were no vegan options for it. I checked their social media later, and it seems like they changed their menu in June of 2023, so I figured that's probably the source of the disconnect.
Read moreI ordered the vegan breakfast plate. It was mediocre at best. The hash brown was fine. The vegan meats were not very good; they had a bit of an aftertaste. I didn't bother finishing them, which is rare for me even when I don't like something. The meal was fine. If I had stopped by this place at random or with non-vegan friends, I wouldn't go hungry, but I wouldn't see any reason to seek this place out.

Disappointed - Edit
Super disappointed to see that this cafe either no longer has a dedicated vegan menu or the staff was not willing to provide it when we asked, as some other reviews on Happycow show that there was a separate vegan menu as recently as April 2023. They have some vegan options marked on their regular menu (hashbrowns, vegan fry up, a vegan chocolate cake), but so do most cafes in Edinburgh. Food was mediocre; e.g., they did not heat plant milk for latte so the coffee was lukewarm. Would probably not return if we had the option.
