Not discrimination
It’s not discrimination to ask for the QR code as vaccination is something you choose. Also somehow the restaurant forgets to mention that for the QR code a negative test or proof of previous sickness works too.
Like little children, calling the people trying to protect you tyrannical. Their wishes of ‘but muh freedoms’ fulfilled would result in another wave, more deaths and possibly another full shutdown of horeca.
Disappointing.
I’ve eaten here before. It was ok, a bit pricy for what it was.
Pros: Vegan
Cons: Conspiracies sourced on Facebook, Expensive
Dissapointing behaviour
Horrible example to our society. You must also protect your customers and respect the law regardless the personal believes of the owners.
I ate here before but I will never come here again.
Cons: Expensive
Disappointing
Came here some time ago due to previous hype. Food was not bad but not special either, there are way better vegan restaurants in Utrecht. Price was also high for what was offered. As such, decided then not to return. But to each their own.
However, they've now under the guise of 'freedom' decided to ditch checks aimed at minimizing public safety risks, and happily associate with known racist disinformation media like cafe weltschmerz.
I hope their actions do not harm the vegan community further.
Pros: Quite ok food, Nicely decorated
Cons: Expensive, Putting customers at heightened covid risk, Associating with known alt-right disinfo groups
Mixing food and vaccines
They compared LGBT causes with anti vaccination groups. Tried to go against the requirement for vaccines.

What does this have to do with their food?
Okay food, bad politics
I’ve been a few times and their food is pretty good although pretty overpriced. The restaurant is nicely decorated! However, I’d never go back again after what happened with the refusal to follow covid guidelines.
I refuse to support anyone who is willing to associate with known fascists and who rejects health and safety guidelines. As a vegan I don’t wanna be associated with that nonsense!
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Nicely decorated
Cons: Expensive, Bad politics
Ok food, double standards and bad politics
Been twice, food was decent, bit on the pricey side for what you get.
During the corona pandemic, these guys have acted like complete clowns. Ignoring health guidelines and refusing to protect their customers, because they felt like asking for proof of vaccination/testing was 'against people's freedom and not inclusive'. However, when I visited, there was no braille menu and the restaurant was far from friendly for people with a disability or wheelchair.
Trying to jump the bandwagon of inclusivity during a global pandemic while having double standards and not being inclusive at all (plus the fact that people who are immunocompromised would have never been able to eat there safely). Disgusting.
Avoid at all cost.

Cons: Double Standards, Bad Politics, Non inclusive
Matig eten bij Wappie Wappie
Toen Waku Waku net open was (onder een andere naam) at ik er geregeld. Toen was de kaart onevenwichtig. Sommige gerechten waren super, andere gerechten zeer middelmatig.
Pros: Volledig veganistisch , Leuke plating, Mooie inrichting
Cons: Wisselende kwaliteit gerechten , Wappie Wappie

Disappointed in Waku Waku - Edit
Asking customers for a Corona pass (QR code) DOESN’T equal ‘discrimination’ as the owners are claiming. If people don’t want a vaccine they can simple not get it, and protest all they want in this free country. This discrimination claim comes from a place with no wheelchair accessible toilets (something you can’t controle, unlike choosing to get vaccinated or not). I’m sad the owners choose this path.. as a vegan from Utrecht I’ve promoted this place to many friends before. No I see no other option then don’t visit here anymore. It doesn’t seem like a safe place to bring friends&family.
Read moreThe must ironic part is that when I past them today I saw a van in front promoting Dutch farmers and Dutch meat, as part of a group of “freedom claimers”.
Cons: Unsafe
