Helpful with vegan menu - Edit
Well marked vegan items and manager came out to ensure a mushroom allergy was catered for. Very helpful prompt service, free green tea and good atmosphere. Staff wrote notes on paper table menus to avoid repeated explanations and ensure correct delivery.

Same as all wagamamas - Edit
Tasty food in a fast food environment. Their menu is always at least half vegan and the prices reasonable.

As good as any other wagamama. Tastes amazing I just wish there were more vegan options.
Read moreI had and would recommend the yasai katsu, vegan k-dogs, and edamame with salt.

Standards slipping? - Edit
I'm usually a big fan of Wagamama and love their excellent selection of vegan options, but I had heard rumours that the standards were slipping.
Read moreOn our visit we shared the bang bang cauliflower and crispy chilli mushrooms and each had the firecracker tofu, whilst our son had the mini yasai katsu.
The crispy chilli mushrooms and tofu firecracker dish, although spicy just lacked any flavour. Thankfully the bang bang cauliflower was on point. The less said about my son's katsu the better. No wonder he left it, bless, it was so bland.

Good food, odd service - Edit
Why do they write on your placement? Why do they lean over you so much? Why do you have to pay using a QR code but can't order that way? 🤷♀️🤷♀️ You get sat very close to other people where you have no privacy and can hear their conversations. Had to send my drink back as it tasted of nothing. However, there are loads of vegan choices and they're very tasty and innovative! Good when you need some warming food but not a stress-free endeavour

Great options in a fast casual environment - Edit
A huge menu with many vegan options. I was a little unsure about it being a chain, but the food I got was super tasty. It was good I want to go back again on this trip to Edinburgh!

Complicated to make adjustments - Edit
Usually in Wagamama I swap the broth and noodles cause it says you can on the menu, but I came in here and there was a lot of faff about it for some reason. The food was good though

Wagamamas - can’t go wrong - Edit
Probably my favourite chain. Never seem to have a bad vegan meal here and this was no different. Very nice service as well. I also enjoyed the seated booth we were in. Definitely recommend what my daughter did - choose a medley of vegan starters rather than a starter and main meal. Get loads of choice that way. I went with the vegan ‘rib’ ramen which was nice (usually always have the vegatsu). Those steamed buns are amazing.

Good Food, a bit loud - Edit
Great food as always at Wagamama. The downstairs area is a bit loud, as it has an open kitchen. But it can also be cool to see how they prepare the food and it's very transparent.

Delicious and healthy. I tried the vegan egg made out of coconut milk. Was accompanied by my family being satisfied as well. Wagamama is a place serving our different taste buds successfully.

Rather disappointing flavour and no plant milk - Edit
Haven’t been in ages and heard they had new vegan menu options. I had the Gaz Oakley collaboration dish and it was just a little flavourless and boring for what it was. Edinburgh has so many other options for vegans unless it’s a last resort you can do better. The final nail in the coffin for wagamama was when we were told they had no plant milks.

Don't get it - Edit
Had friends visiting and after being knocked back from Yeni we took an easy option as my visitors are not veggie.
Read moreWe had some dumplings to start which were like frozen itsu [censored] from supermarket. Followed by curried tofu and udon fish which was just lacking in taste other than salt. Really expensive drinks even for Edinburgh.
The night wasn't helped by shambolic service with slow delivery and it wasn't until desert we were told there was a kids menu.(we had kids with us).
Wagamama like other chains, better than nothing, just.
An hour later and instill have a bad after taste.
Pros: Lovation
Cons: Value, Seevice, Quality

Fairly average - Edit
Had been looking forward to a vegan Katsu after seeing some other great reviews of Wagamama from around the UK. The meal unfortunately was pretty average. The sauce wasn’t great but there also wasn’t enough of it. The rice was over cooked. Maybe we just had an off night! The mushroom bao were tasty though. Would give it another go though, & try the Pad Thai

A newly-expanded vegan menu - Edit
Wagamama's vegan menu has really grown over the past year. I've enjoyed the gyoza, steamed buns, curries and ramens. Itching to try the vegatsu but they were out!
Read moreThey're one of those "we'll bring each dish out as soon as it's ready" places, which can be annoying if someone has to wait forever for their meal, but other than that it's all good :)
