Very good food with a sea view and attractions - Edit
Food with a touch of local hint. Very tasty. Curries are like i never had before. Most dishes are vegan but they serve some eggs as well as far as i saw.

Lovely place - Edit
Such a good spot on the island. Ate here 4 times in 3 days. You pay on ordering which was a little odd at first but convenient. The veggie meat is really good and nice instead of just veg. Vegan filipino dishes were really good and had the carbonara and it was also super tasty and came with a delicious fresh pita. I chatted to the manager Milet and she was super warm and friendly. They also sell some bracelets of which some of the profits go to helping the local kids.

Great selection of yummy Good - Edit
I ate here every day of my stay and I am not sure I managed to eat everything on the menu that looked good to me. Everything I tried was delicious, service was friendly and the location right at the beach is a dream. There is music most nights, either live or DJ. Most meals were either vegan or could be served vegan.

Good Vegan Choices - Edit
Nice Staff. Good Location on Beach. Vegetarian but Good Vegan Choices. Live music that was mellow and not intrusive. Bob Marley Reggae style. Had Indian Pies which was 3 pies, nice portion size. I returned the next night and had Monggo, a very Pilipino dish. Really tasty.

10/10 try the Adobo - Edit
We ate here 8 times over the past 4 days. I think we ordered the Native Adobo at least for one of us 6 times. Honestly, I think it is the best dish I ever ate. It's just such a good combination of spices and the vegetables and the veggie meat. Wow!
Read moreAlmost all dishes are vegan, or can be made vegan. Just be careful, because the iced coffee shake (so not the normal iced coffee) and I think most of the other shakes contain some kind of biscuit, which we found in the store and contained honey. They don't specify that it is vegan, but still, they don't specify that it is not vegan either.
Please also enjoy the live music after 7 pm. Overall 10/10.

THE best place to have food on Malapascua✨ - Edit
We could not have been happier to have given the Villa Potenciana a go on our very first night. The atmosphere is great with live music, an awesome view and very kind and knowledgeable staff, but the food is truly spectacular. We came here for every other food option that followed. ✨
Read moreSome of our favourites have been the Adobo, the Monggo Curry, the Champorado, the Mushroom Sisig and the Tacco Pizza. But to be entirely honest, none of the other dishes were disappointing in the slightest!
Don’t miss out when visiting Malapascua! A big thanks to Gang Gang and the lovely staff 🦋

Unbelievable - both flavours and value! - Edit
Run don’t walk. It was a godsend for our trip. After being very hard done by elsewhere in the Philippines (especially the nearby Bantayan!!) we were so grateful for this gorgeous place. Food was wonderful. Service lovely. Vibe immaculate. We ate three meals here every day for four days and loved everything we tried except the munggo curry (a little bland).

The staff don't understand what vegan is - Edit
I do appreciate a place like this existing in a vegan food desert like the Philippines, but after reading older reviews and after my own experience, I couldn't give this place a high rating because they are continually making mistakes and giving vegans non-vegan food. It's not like they are an omni restaurant. They market themselves as being vegan and vegetarian and by now, they should know what they are doing.
Read moreThe staff and chefs do not fully understand or even care what vegan means. The staff will write vegan on the ticket but when I asked if the mayo on our food was vegan, they just said 'yes'. So I then asked if the mayo is made in house or from the store. The waitress said 'from the store' which of course contains eggs (you can't get vegan cheese in the supermarket let alone mayonnaise in Cebu). We had to send two items back. The table next to us overheard and were not happy as they had trusted that their food was also vegan and discovered something they ate the night before actually wasn't vegan.
Being suspicious of what we also ate the night before, I asked about the ingredients in one of our dishes and the waitress said it had cream in it which explains why my partner wasn't feeling well early the next morning and nearly vomited which is unlike him.
When I tried to explain that people could get sick from allergies/intolerances to eggs and dairy, I just got blank expressions, so I asked to speak to the chefs in an attempt to help clarify what ingredients were vegan. They refused to speak to me and told me to wait for the owner. I did that and while he started off on the defense, he did apologize and said he would have a staff meeting.
If you decide to eat at this restaurant, you must clarify no cream, no mayonnaise, no cheese, no eggs, and probably stick to the options that are just labeled vegan rather than the ones that say they can be made vegan. The food we did have that was vegan was quite tasty. I do hope the owner takes this seriously and educate his staff, but in the meantime, vegans need to take precautions. Anyone with allergies even more so.
