Lovely place, unusual meals - Edit
When we walked along the lakefront from Schwerin centre to Zippendorf beach, we searched for a restaurant online before because we knew we would need a meal break. We found Vielfalter and as ethical vegans we were a bit skeptical because it is adjacent to the zoo, but it was ok for us. While it is next to the zoo, it does not seem to have any ties with it and it is not owned by it. In fact, it is a social enterprise employing people with and without disabilities.
Read moreThe menu is divided into six sections - burgers, salads, baked potatoes, wraps, pasta dishes and soups - and there is one clearly marked vegan dish per section, plus one more vegan soup. My husband chose the vegan burger while I chose the ginger and carrot soup and the vegan pasta, both in small portions. You can have most dishes in a smaller size, which in my opinion is very nice!
Everything tasted well, although it was not the best food we ever had. However, we appreciated that the dishes had an interesting and unusual twist: We never had tasted dried apple as part of a burger, or chickpea cream in general.
