I usually get a vegan cheese pizza with tomatoes and olives. The crust is fantastic, and the cheese is so good that on the first bite I sometimes worry for a second if they accidentally put non-vegan cheese on it. 😂

Good vegan cheese - Edit
Edit: my original review in 2021 was not good. They made a change to their vegan cheese at that time and it was gross. I went back at the end of 2022 and it was changed again. I am not sure what they used but it was VERY GOOD. I would definitely go back.

I don’t know how the did it but the Vegan cheese was so flavorful and creamy! My pizza was absolutely delicious. I will absolutely be returning. I still regret not ordering a second one to take home!

Parking is available in the rear garage with entrance on West 31st or Guadalupe. Via 313 (the area code for Detroit) uses "Follow Your Heart" Mozz with a coconut oil base. This seems to be a better tasting choice than the Daiya Mozz used at some other pizzerias around town.

I always prefer the cheese bread to the actual pizza but if you do order the vegan cheese topping I suggest you go with extra crispy because the cheese can be a bit... sticky? And gross in your mouth if it’s not cooked thoroughly.

Read moreI’ve been vegan nearly 2 years now and this was the best pizza I’ve ever had since. I feel like I’ve done an injustice by not taking a picture of the bottom. It had the most golden and crispy crust. Just thinking about it gives me nostalgia and I ate it less than 20 mins ago. It was delectable. I’m only in town for a few days but I’ll definitely be back. Wish I could give 5 stars. Please go here. It’s amazing.

Came here for beer with some non-veg friends and was craving pizza. Went up to see if there were any vegan options and was pleasantly surprised to find that they offered vegan cheese as an option! Did “The Herbivore” with vegan cheese and it was delicious. 5/5

I've been to the one in Oak Hill and on Rainey Street, both are excellent. I have had the thick crust and the thin crust topped with veggies, no cheese and it was wonderful!

Via 313 is a cool pizza shop with a large interior and full bar. On the menu is a pizza called The Marinara (it's labelled vegan!). You could add vegan cheese if you want for an extra charge. This is thick crust pizza with super generous garlic-y sauce. An 8x10 inch pizza is only $7, inexpensive and filling :)

I had never had Detroit style pizza before going to Via 313 but I absolutely loved it! I had been wanting to go for a while but I live up north so it always seemed too far away. When they opened up across from Wheatsville I finally went and was so happy that I did! I highly recommend this place!!

I went to one of their food trucks and was blown away by their pizza. Detroi-style is cooked in a square pan and both crispy and fluffy at the same time. Sauce on top. Have a few vegan options. Delicious.

The Detroit deep dish style was new to me but this is some of my favourite pizza in the world! I love that they use Follow Your Heart and their marinara is killer. I'd give this place a 5 if I could!
