Non-profit organization. Organizes vegan catering. Used to provide vegan food once a week at Solidarity Books to raise money for local and national activism but that store shut down, Apr 2014.
The food here was great, and those serving it were really friendly and excited to talk to some 'real vegans' (most of those who cook/attend aren't vegan but make only vegan food for the event) / people from another country.
However, it was obvious that we weren't locals, since no one had seen us before, and we got some sideways glances. It felt awkward at times; if you're going to have a 'community' event, be warm toward those who come from outside your normal circle.
However, the food was really delicious, and you simply put in a donation of what you feel is appropriate.
I'd go back, if it was possible. The food was greater than the awkwardness.
