Delicious, fast and cheap food. Fake duck was delicious, lots of spice and lovely owners. Next door to Sam'yan Mitrtown which has very little veggie options. Recommend!

Authentic Chinese with fake meat

Very big menu, almost everything is a fake meat dish. Super authentic Chinese food - enjoyed being able to try dishes I normally can't, though fake meat isn't so much to my taste.

It's cheap even by Thai standards, with most dishes ranging from 60-160 baht. The vibe matches the price - it's definitely no frills and there wasn't much atmosphere when I came.

The hours on Happy Cow say Mon-Sat but I came on a Sunday and it was open. Almost certain it's all vegan rather than veggie as well - no egg or milk on the menu and they have an award from Vegan Thai/ it has the jain red and yellow sign.

Pros: Cheap, Authentic , Loads of choice

Cons: Not much atmosphere , Only good if you like fake meat!

Huge menu!

Huge menu of options including rice and noodle dishes with vegetables, mushrooms and mock meats. Some appetizers as well, like vegan dish balls and spring rolls.

They prepare it very fast. A reviewer commented that it might be frozen. That might be, considering how many options they have and how fast it is prepared. Regardless the flavor was very good! I will definitely come back again!

They also have WiFi.

Very big menu with vegan options!

We was here and tried some vegan dishes. All was good and fresh. And yes, I and my husband love mock meat, so their food was good for us. You can order not only classic vegan Thai dishes with rice, but and vegan spring rolls, skewers with vegan meat and etc. Also they had some items for sale.

Their menu was really big (at end 2019). When we was here, I checked number of rice dishes (~60), and it only dishes with rice. 😃

Pros: Tasty food, Big variety a vegan options and mock meat dishes, Friendly, but not English spoken staff

Tasty Local Chinese-Thai Food

The menu is local Chinese-Thai menu. Very tasty. Most of the dishes come with mock meat like most of Thai Vegetarian restaurant. So if you don’t like Mock meat don’t come here. But if you don’t mind, this is one of the best choice.

Pros: Local Taste, Reasonable Price, Local Chinese-Thai food

Edible

If you like mock meat, come here, the menu is full of it. If not don't bother.

I had the mock bbq pork, the flavour of which I'm not so keen on but the sauce that came with it was good.

I also ordered a plate of some stir fried greens as well, I think it was pak choy? Not loads of flavour to it apart from some Chinese fermented soybeans. I ended up using a lot of chili vinegar condiment.

Overall I paid 200 baht for two dishes and a drink which I felt wasn't worth it.

Pros: Extensive menu

Cons: Not great flavours, Too expensive to justify the quality

Cheap food!

Basic Chinese-style meals, at around 60-100 baht each. There are a lot of options. The menu is in English too.

It's a tiny place. Not on the main street, but on a small street parallel to it.

Pros: Cheap, Lots of vegan options

frozen food

The menu is very long, lots of choice. I had 2 dishes and they were very basic heated up frozen food. Not very tasty. And one i didn't like.
Place is dirty anywhere you look even though that isn't an issue for me.
I walked a mile to come here and would have had better next to my accomodation.
Come here only if its very close and you are starving.

Pros: lots of choice

Cons: frozen food

Deserves more than 3 stars

This was near my hotel on Surawongse and I was a bit worried because of the 3* reviews. Sure, it's a bit grubby outside and in but the food was amazing. Really it was. If you're not a mock meat fan, then go elsewhere. But what I had was tasty and served freshly cooked, which was a welcome change to the cold buffet offerings elsewhere. I shall be going here again.

Pros: Lots of Vegan options. Food is cooked fresh

Cons: None. Maybe it's not in a glamorous setting, b

Vegie House, Bangkok

I am generally in agreement with much said in previous reviews.

1stly this place does Chinese food rather than Thai.

2nd it is mock meat ground zero. Me and my co-diner carefully picked our way through the menu to select 4 dishes that appeared not to contain mock meat. When the food hit the table, 2 of them contained mock meat. That was a couple of surprises we could've done without.

Cons: Dishes with mock meat when not expect

Mock meat central

I don't know what the previous reviewers ordered, but I can say that there's nothing remotely Thai about this restaurant. I've lived in Thailand and China, and this felt 100% Chinese.

It's certainly not a place to come if you want a fresh salad. There are 252 items on the menu (plus seven drinks; I counted), and almost every food dish centres around a mock meat of some kind. Including things like vegetarian shark fin soup.

There are four large freezers in the somewhat dirty restaurant itself (and perhaps more out the back), and your order is likely going to come out of one of these.

Personally I prefer fresh vegetables and tend to avoid mock meats, so this wasn't ideal for me, but it was still ok I guess.

The staff were lovely, and it was perhaps the most extensive vegetarian menu that I've ever seen. Not a place to come for a romantic dinner or for a fresh, organic salad though.

Expect to pay around 50 baht for a main dish.

Pros: Friendly staff, Very extensive menu, Decent value

Cons: Very mock meat heavy, Mostly frozen foods, A little dirty

Nice simple thai restaurant

Tiny place, very likely more aimed at locals than tourists. Friendly staff and good simple food and very reasonable prices. Thai with a chinese influence. It is on the main road and not in the back.

Pros: tasty food, all veggie, very cheap

Cons: bit out of the way and hard to find

Pros: 便宜

Cons:

AUTHENTIC Thai food.

One of the better restaurants in Bangkok. This restaurant is for locals and made with love. The food is cheap and good and you will never be disappointed upon leaving. For good Thai food in a relaxed setting, go here. A lot of vegan options as well and a very extensive English menu.

Pros: great food, inexpensive, large menu

Cons: no english spoken

Hi Phil,

Do you know if the mock meats have been verified as vegan?
