Great choice for vegan Italian food - Edit
It was the first and the last. On our recent trip to Puerto Vallarta, after leaving the airport and making our way to Centro, my wife wanted to return directly to Veggitalia for dinner. On our way back to the airport, we had our lunch meal here, too. Chef Marco is a master of Italian vegetarian cuisine. The pizzas and salads are awesome. We had never tried any of the pastas but after reading a negative review about the pastas, we thought we had at least try one of the pastas to see if the review was accurate or just a one off. We had the manicotti and it was exquisite. Our favorite pizza is the Cinco Terra (sp?) and our favorite salad is the one with the pears. However, everything we have had has been exceptional. Check out the vegetable anti-pasta. Be advised that if you order the vegan cheese for your dish, they add a surcharge of 30 pesos as of March 2022. (If you are familiar with vegan cheese, you know that it is very expensive. However, they really should make it more transparent that you will be charged more.) Yes, the service is a little slow but hey!, you are in Mexico at an authentic Italian restaurant. What did you expect? Relax and savor every bite!

Cons: Need more transparency re: vegan cheese surcharge

Vegan, gluten-free pizza - Edit
My friend and I have had the food at Veggitalia multiple times over our many trips to PV. We love their pizza and the atmosphere is wonderful. The menu is a little difficult - It’s on the chalkboard without descriptions and then they have a menu that’s only in Spanish. I always ask what can be made both vegan and gf because sometimes it’s hard to know but they’re always kind an happy to help. Tonight I had their Regina pizza with both the gf crust and vegan cheese. This is a must do place for vegan food if you’re visiting PV!

Vibing Italy - Edit
To earn 5 stars I would say put more food on the plate. I ordered the pizza because I knew that would be the only one money's worth. 9 or 10 dollars for the other choices I knew i could consume in 5 bites. If you're wealthy then you won't have an issue with the place.
Read moreI loved the dim lighting and candlelight and small flashlight provided to see the menu. I'm a big film buff so I loved seeing Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni together. Loved the quotes on the wall.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great wall photos, Candlelit meal
Cons: Expensive

Pros: Zentral gelegen , Freundliches Personal
Cons: Teuer und langsamer Service , Niedrige Qualität , Kleine Portion

Don’t order pastas, just stick with pizzas - Edit
Had high expectations going into this restaurant after so many amazing reviews, but was disappointed with service and food.
Read moreMy husband’s lasagna was so bad, had no flavor at all. I am not the greatest cook, but my lasagna is 150 times better than this. I think actually airplane lasagna is better than this. My husband called it “Awful dinner”. My Puttnasca was ok, but definitely have had better.
The highlight was pizza and tiramisu. One of the best vegan pizzas.
Service wasn’t great. They seemed annoyed with us, maybe bc we had two kids (4 and 6) or maybe bc we were Americans? They didn’t speak English well, so it was challenging. The guy messed up our order: didn’t bring our Caesar salad, but brought us two pizzas. When I told him that is not what I ordered, and repeated what i ordered and asked for my salad, I never saw the salad. I don’t even know what they charged us for, they never showed us our bill, just took our card, and asked how much tip we want to add. So I don’t even know if we paid for two pizzas and ceasar salad we never had.
The atmosphere was great though, cute place. Just not sure they like tourists or kids..
Pros: Great pizza, Great atmosphere
Cons: The worst lasagna of my life, Pastas are ok, Challenging bc of Language barrier

I’m hungry. - Edit
I would love to give more stars for the pizza if it were just for flavor. It just lacked enough ingredients to come close to filling us up. I don’t think there was a half cup of ingredients on it! I might eat vegan food but I do have an appetite!
Read moreWe each had a good vegan salad so credit is due on that.
The big surprise came when I got the bill. The waiter confirmed that all menu items can be made vegan. But nowhere does it state that there’s a 30 peso charge for items ordered vegan. Nor did he inform me of that. It’s not about the money really, I just expect more food for the prices charged and I like being informed.
No plan to return, way too many great vegan options in this town.

Amazing - Edit
The food was amazing. Every dish we had was 5/5 so good. The owner was also very nice. He gave us a free dessert and could translate everything in English easily. Also my omni boyfriend loved the food and could not even tell that it was vegan.

Best Pizza Ever!!! - Edit
I fell in love with this place. Customer service 100% makes you feel at home. The owner introduced himself and ask me about my food preferences. Its a vegetarian restaurant but cater to vegans as well. Their pizzas are prepared in brick oven with firewood since they are artesanal. It was literally the best pizza I've had. Definitely must try and its in el centro.

Amazing - Edit
I’ve been plenty of places with Italian food. The (vegetarian, not vegan) manicotti I had here was the best pasta dish I have had in any country, better than Rome, better than any place I have ever been. The pizza was a strong A, too. My partner vouches for the vegan versions. Did not feel like he was missing out at all. They have vegan versions of basically every dish. The vegan lasagna got a good word. The chef seems like a cool guy.

We got the veggie lasagnas (vegan) and the veggie pizza (vegan), both were excellent and very light. We shared the lasagna and they split it for us without asking. The owner seemed very friendly as well as the server.

I'd heard great things about Veggitalia here on Happy Cow and on Facebook. We finally got a chance to try this restaurant today and are so glad we did. We had gluten-free vegan pizza with veggies, manicotti, and tiramisu. Everything was delicious and the service is excellent. We can't wait to go back!

Imprescindible en Puerto Vallarta - Edit
Absolutely delicious elevated vegetarian and vegan cuisine in a lovely small cafe located in the romantic zone of Puerto Vallarta, Jal. We were all thrilled with the food and the service at this absolute gem of a restaurant. Lovely wine. Local Beers. We shared the Jean Pierre Pizza, Rigatoni Peperonata, Manicotti, and Lasagna. We finished with the vegan chocolate mousse. All HIGHLY RECOMMEND, but especially the the manicotti WOW!

Really great vegetarian and vegan food that stays true to Italian cuisine. - Edit
Really great and fresh Italian food that’s vegetarian or vegan. I had the pene pasta with a tomato sauce that had lentils in it. You could not taste to see the lentils but they not only provided protein but also the texture that makes it very Italian. The service was also great. Highly recommended.
