Excellent dinner - Edit
There were counter seats available when we arrived (be careful in Kyoto, many close early or are only open during the day). We were welcomed in really nicely. They had 3 options to choose from. We ordered a side of the rosemary potatoes, I ordered the Buddha bowl and my partner had the hamburger. The bowl came with rice and the tofu in it was delicious. It all tasted fresh, was a good size and stayed interesting throughout the meal. My hibiscus kombucha was nice too. My partner loved the burger. Said it was one of the best burgers he’d eaten.

Yum - Edit
We ordered take out and everything was tasty. We had the Buddha bowl, open faced sandwich, and the burger with potatoes. Everything was super fresh and flavourful. Made onsite and from scratch.
Read moreThe service was really good. It was just the one chef and she was working her [censored] off. She kept apologizing because the food took a while but we did order everything on the menu.

Vegamazing - Edit
Vegginy is a very small place in a basement store but it is filled with bright shining people preparing the most amazing tasting fresh food. We loved the Power Buddha bowl and the Korean BBQ Tofu sandwich. Both can with either carrot soup or rosemary potatoes. The seasonal hibiscus kombucha had just the right effervescence and delicate flavor. It was delightfully refreshing. The highly recommended muffins had a not too sweet taste of banana, walnuts and chocolate. The sincere kindness of the staff warmed my heart greatly. Arigatou gozaimasu

One of my favourites in Kyoto - Edit
This restaurant was one of my favourites in Kyoto. I absolutely loved their Buddha Bowl. Not only does it look amazing, but it's also incredibly delicious. The menu, however, changes weekly, so they don't always have it. We also tried their burger (which is really difficult to eat, but tastes amazing) and the sandwhich - both incredible. Their home made Kombucha also never dissapointed. Last but not least, if they have muffins left - do yourself a favour and get one (or two). They are absolutely to die for. I tried the banana muffin and the peach muffin and words can't describe how nice they were!

Small but delicious menu - Edit
They offer only a few dishes, but it was so good, we came back the next day.
Read moreThe burger is huge and very tasty, but also on the messy side. The burger patty is quite mushy, yet very tasty.
The Buddha bowl had nothing we didnt like, everything tastes very well.
As side dish we got some rosemary potatoes, consisting of three different kinds of potatoes from Japan.
Also their homemade lemonades are very tasty and refreshing.
The restaurant is located in the basement of a building in a quiet side street. They got a little sign with the menu out on the street.
Inside are two tables and some chairs on the bar.
We came for dinner on the weekend shortly after opening and got a table instantly. Service is very nice, but even if not super busy, the food takes a while.

The service is pretty good and the staff really welcoming. Even though I visited during busy hours, what I got was definitely worth the wait! The hot fresh chocolate muffin was delicious and satisfying. I recommend it to all Kyoto visitors.

Burger and sandwich were good - Edit
We got the burger and the falafel sandwich. The burger was good, though it did taste different than most vegan burgers I usually have. So if you are looking for a proper, typical, vegan burger I would likely go somewhere else, but if you want to taste something new then this is the place! I think the burger is maybe made of mushrooms and it has a very strong taste. The sandwich was good too but it was small and probably not filling enough to be considered a meal on its own.

Ended up taking away the vegetable sandwich and rosemary potatoes as I was short on time but the staff prepared the food quickly and made sure I wouldn’t miss my train.

The huge advantage for me was the fact they brew their own kombucha in house and make their pickles. The strawberry earl gray kombucha was delicious!

Tiny gem - Edit
This is a very small venue down one flight of stairs on a small street - look out for the sign outside so you don’t miss it. Everything is vegan and while the menu is small (though options change regularly), the food is clearly put together with a lot of care and passion. We tried the fried potatoes (a variety of potato types) and the burger - it was huge, and not just in terms of Japan sizes. #Veganuary

Fab staff, fab falafel, long wait times. - Edit
We popped into vegginy with a group of 4 and were seated immediately at the bar for lunch service, something that doesn’t happen all too often in Kyoto! Awesome.
Read moreHowever, dining here was a 2 hour experience as once we were sat down, it took the staff over an hour to prepare our meals. We ordered 2 falafel sandwiches, the burger and the nacho rice dish.
To give the staff some credit, the place and kitchen are very small, and they are preparing excellent quality food. Unfortunately for myself and my partner we ordered the burger and nacho rice dish which were really lacking in flavour, and the burger was quite difficult to eat, spilling out everywhere as soon as I crushed it down (think classic vegan veggie patty with nothing dense to hold it together). Eating the food though did however make us feel pretty excellent - real quality ingredients. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the falafel personally but this place gets 5 stars because apparently it was to die for - our meat eating friends that we were with said that it was the best food they’d had all trip, and that they’d never known falafels could be so moist and delicious. They concluded it was well worth the wait.
Tl;dr: beautiful staff, very long wait time to get your food, get the falafel sandwich. ❤️
Pros: Falafel sandwich, Beautifully decorated interior, Super delightful and friendly staff
Cons: Very long wait for food , Vegan burger, Hibiscus lemonade
