Must Visit in Albufeira ☀️ - Edit
A fully vegan restaurant in Albufeira with traditional Portuguese dishes ! We had Camarões A La Guilho which was a lovely Portuguese shrimp dish 🤤 I have to say the shrimp was very impressive. The texture and the taste was on point, very realistic shrimp in my opinion 🍤🌱

Fantastic! In a town full of meat/fish this is an oasis - Edit
Cute little place with a tiny kitchen, mom cooks and son serves the best vegan food in the Algarve. We had ‘shrimps’ Algarve style (in white wine and garlic) with garlic bread followed by a Momi burger and chickun burger. The momi burger has a slice of grilled tofu, cheeze and facon. For dessert, we had a pastel de nata slice (her own recipe with cornflour and lots of cinnamon). Highly recommended venue.

Best vegan restaurant I’ve been to in a long time - Edit
The owner was so welcoming, a true, kind vegan. The menu was amazing the best I have ever seen….so much choice, some really unusual options including traditional Portuguese style dishes. I was overwhelmed and excited by the options. My daughters and I had the tofu cheese starter with fresh bread to start. I had the Portuguese wrap with meatballs, so tasty and unusual. One daughter had the cheese quesadilla….delicious melted cheese with onion, so moreish. My other daughter had the Beyond burger which was the tastiest of the 3 meals which included bacon and cheese with the burger….lush. All 3 meals came with salad and sweet potato crisps. Couldn’t resist the luxurious chocolate cake for dessert, so rich and creamy, heaven. An amazing place with the most delicious food, just wish there was one back home in Nottingham! ❤️

Monica is a wonder woman vegan chef ! We have been 5 times since we arrived one week ago today. The food is healthy , delicious and made to perfection. We love not knowing what dishes Monica will create. So far we've had chicpea wraps with tofu, lentil pastry slices, pizzas, soups, smoothies, count less cups of teas as Monica give free refills !! Amazing value and love she is 100% vegan😄

Worth waiting for … - Edit
Monica is owner, chef, server and cleaner, informative, passionate and lovely too. Be patient as it’s a one person operation, then you may be able to focus on the food and not the long wait. Looking at the last three 2 star reviews - Infrequent reviewers having a moan with no balance to their review at all - moaners!

Starter - Fried Soya Chorizo €9.50. It was sliced chorizo cooked in a well seasoned home made sauce of onions, garlic and herbs, with 2 slices of cheese. with 6 slices of traditional bread and a dish of vegan butter. It had a great chorizo texture and flavour (but not as red) and spread on bread it was well seasoned and tasted wonderful. So much so, we bought 2 chorizos to take back to the UK.
Starter - Drunk Shrimps €9.90. 6 (but we got 10 at no extra cost) shrimps in a alcoholic sauce and garlic. It came with 3 half baguettes of garlic and rosemary bread too. They look just like shrimps, cut like them, have the same bouncy texture without being chewy and a genuine syrup taste to them - not like they were manufactured. Dipping the bread in the amazing sauce before topping it with a shrimp and eating it whole was a delight to behold.
Main - Pizza Dish of the Day €8.50. 2 big slices of a 30 inch pizza with vegan cheese and a roasted vegetable stew topping with a side of tacos. Sounds weird but it was like a well made slow cooked vegetable and bean stew, where it been reduced to a thick sauce so it can be used as a topping. It tasted great and made me think about other toppings which might work too. This came on a plate which was 2/3 filled with Monica’s traditional salad. The salad was really fresh - made up of 12 salad ingredients and well seasoned with drizzled olive oil, a vinaigrette and sea salt. I’d eat this salad every day if I could. Monica kindly boxed the slice of pizza we couldn’t finish.
Main - Ball Thingy (will update when I remember) Dish of the Day €8.50. With a choice of how it camel, I opted for a wrap. It was a 12 inch wrap cut into 2 and served with the same salad as above. Having failed to finish half the pizza we demolished the salad and had the wrap boxed up for breakfast - with the pizza. I can’t describe how nuance and fresh it tasted the next morning. Complex flavours but well balanced, with both sweet and spicy coming through too. A great dish of the day.
Pastel de Nata - Out of Thais world.
This was a true vegan Portuguese delight.
Thank you

I'm always happy about vegan restaurants, but nothing is right here: the service is listless, the food tasteless (no dressing on the salad, the vegetables are overcooked) and that after we've waited an hour.

Good food and friendly staf - Edit
We are a family with 2 boys (age 7 and 10) so the cafe was perfect for us. Maybe not so good if you wanted a restaurant feel though. There are a few tables outside but on quite a busy road and 3/4 small tables inside. We loved it though, lots of posters promoting veganism and activism on the walls and a friendly, family run atmosphere.
Read moreThe food was amazing and massive portions, my boys had burgers, (€16 each) but they happily made one a lot simpler for my youngest and charged less for it. We also had the shrimp curry (€14) and the house daily special which was a curry pie (€8.50) and delicious. The drinks menu was great and we had chocolate ‘milk’ which was huge!
Would definitely recommend it if you like good food but aren’t too bothered about the surroundings. It was lovely to eat somewhere away from all the usual restaurants in the area serving loads of dead animals.
Pros: Good food, Willing to cater for smaller portions, All vegan
Cons: Quite a climb out of town, No working toilets , On a busy road

Expected better based on reviews - Edit
I had the pizza and it was good just had a lot of toppings and the dough was very thin. The overwhelming amount of toppings might be my fault for what i ordered. The rest of the food was good but nothing exeptional. The staff were not rude, but seemed in a rush and were not super friendly. Based on the reviews, we just expected better

Visit a must - Edit
A massive vegan menu, and lots of decor to show why we should be vegan. It's rare to be in a vegan café where the folks who run it are so explicit about animal rights. The owner said they were going on an animal rights march in Lisbon the next day, and were part of Animal Liberation Portugal, and it's still hard in Portugal to get veganism taken seriously. Usually they make vegan Portuguese tarts on Friday but sadly none that day due to the march.

Unfortunately disappointing - Edit
We expected quite a bit because of all the good reviews.
Read moreUnfortunately we were not so happy with our food.
The garlic bread was alright(nothing special) but the jackfruit lasagna didn't taste good and the oriental salad was just some chickpeas, salad, spices and one slice of (bought?) cheese cut into four smaller pieces and missed dressing.
The prices were with 15€ for the lasagne and 8,5€ for the salad quite expensive and the portions rather small.
Cons: Expensive, Didn't taste good
