Hmm - Edit
The staff itself were nice and present. Also very nice with everything on the menu being vegan and having a diversity with traditional portugese food/wraps/burgers etc.
Read moreThe only cons were that it was very expensive. Especially if you compare it to any other place in Portugal. Maybe it’s because most people that come here/there are tourists. Also I think the prices have gone up a bit because on Google reviews they were cheaper a few months back.
I ordered a burger which was 16€. And for me it felt like it wasn’t value for the money. Even though there were a lot of stuff in the burger; vegan salciccia, tofu, soy, sauce and more (which was very nice) the bread was normal (not homemade I think) and the fries were sweet potato chips (which probably wasn’t homemade as well) and they had ketchup on (not autism friendly). I probably could’ve said something about the chips and I’m sure they would’ve gotten me without ketchup on.
However I think I expected more out of the price.
Maybe it’s another thing (for the price) if the bread and the chips actually are homemade (and if so, I apologize).
The place in itself was small and cozy yet right by the street. This was a shame because cars/bus drove past (if you’re sitting outside) this is however not their fault.
I am grateful though that the vegan place exists and has variety and kindness, I was/am just really sad about the prices. Because I really would have loved to try more things on the menu if only it wasn’t that expensive.
NOTE: only cash.
Pros: The staff, Variety
Cons: Expensive, Only cash

Best vegan establishment in Albufeira! - Edit
My husband and I went here 5 times during our holiday. The food is home made and absolutely delicious. I honestly can't understand how anyone can give this place a bad review. The portions are huge and the service is superb (we got a few freebies for being regular visitors). They have loads of gluten-free options too. I would highly recommend the chickpea omelette, but everything is delicious. Very reasonably priced too.

Tasty vegan food - Edit
Nice vegan restaurant, food was delicious but service wasn’t that great. Waiter was polite but not firendly. Also on the night we went the bathroom were out of order so that was kind of unpractical. Qe had the portugese omelet and the strogonof and both were good!

You can't miss this place! - Edit
I discovered the restaurant in early September and it took me a while to come back here to write this review, but I still remember how special it was. Momi makes the food with true love for the animal cause. Everything is very tasty and original. With few vegetarian and vegan options in the area, you feel welcomed and at home in this place. After trying the strogonoff, the alheira and the garlic bread, I went back the next day to eat the pastel de nata! Incredible, without a doubt the best I've ever had!
Pros: Many taste options, Pastel de Nata , Original recipes

Meals were tasty and service good. Discovered that Portuguese food isn’t our favourite though, quite heavy and smoky seasonings.

Best meal we had in Albufeira - Edit
Albufeira has very little on offer for vegans, so this is an absolute gem. The place is very small, and they only take cash, but its round the corner from an ATM, so no real issue there. We sat on the street tables and checked out the view, which was nice, but pretty busy with cars coming back from the beach.
Read moreFood wise, the menu is extensive but everything we had was so delicious. The drunken shrimp were the best things we ate our whole trip, so realistic and in the most amazing garlicky sauce - we ended up quizzing the waiter on how they were made because they were just so good! The other fake meat products were all a little bit one note, but that's kind of standard for all fake meat products, so we didn't really mind - however some more wholefood vegan options would have gone down a treat! The Momi burger was awesome, and the sweet potato chips were crisps which was a nice surprise.
We loved it here, we tried to explore other places but nothing really compared to Veggie Momi, it's a must-hit if you're vegan!
Pros: The drunken shrimp, best dish , Delicious cider , Fully vegan with lots of choice
Cons: Cash only, Very small location, Lots of fake meat products

We have a family of 5 with mixed vegan and omnivore eaters. This place was perfect. Delicious food, generous portions and plates beautifully. Family run and it shows ( in a good way). Note that it's cash only.

Had the best long and leisurely lunch at Veggie Momi. I was so happy to have some of my childhood favourites made vegan. I haven’t had a choriço omelette in years and I can’t stop thinking about it days after the meal.

Oasis in a sea of fish and meat - Edit
Portugal isn't exactly overwhelmed with vegan food so it's nice to find a wholly vegan restaurant, we sat outside watching the world go by whilst both having the vegan omelette, I had the Portuguese one and my wife had the carrot and vegan cheese. Both were absolutely gorgeous and we were too full to indulge in a dessert afterwards. Definitely recommend this place and I also found the staff very friendly and helpful too.

Beautiful Vegan Cafe - Edit
This was by far the best vegan food I had while on holidays in Albufeira. My partner and I had the Portuguese wrap which came with a salad and sweet potato chips. The service was great, very friendly and attentive and the setting was small but beautiful….we sat outside and had a lovely view of the sea. I would highly recommend.

Dessert!! - Edit
Albufeira is a vegan wasteland, surrounded mostly by seafood and Irish restaurants: Veggie Momi brings relief. The quaint restaurant offers decadent, finely crafted, affordable desserts served by a cold and apathetic staff.
Read moreVeggie Momi is centrally located on a nice, quiet street with outdoor seating. The green and purple interior clashes distinctly with eclectic decorations of pro-vegan stickers and messages. The staff wasn’t rude, but they weren’t the friendliest either. Luckily, the food saves them.
In contrast to the staff, the cake was amazing—A chocolate peanut butter cookie cake with moist, fluffy dense cream divided by softened cookie layers and garnished with a walnut. It reminds me of a chocolate peanut butter version of a tiramisu. The cake is sweetened by the price—a substantial cake slice for a measly four euros.
Come for the cake and forget about the staff (they’re sure to forget about you), but it’s worth every euro.

We were there yesterday and felt very comfortable. We had the lasagne and the curry. Super tasty and very large portions. The peanut butter just about fit in. But above all we enjoyed the conversations with Veggie Momi. A great woman with a big heart.

A True Gem - Edit
Our dinner was so lovely here. The family is welcoming and their cooking is something to be proud of. I had the Not Chicken Burger (tasted better than Chik-fil-a) and my partner had the Alheira (homemade sausage) with rice, pineapple, and pepper. It’s the kind of food that tastes homemade because it’s fresh and feels good. Dessert was outstanding! We loved the peanutbutter and chocolate layered cake!!

It's ok - Edit
I find it difficult to rate places like this one. Passionate owner, vegan place for the right reasons (not because it's trendy nowadays) but the food was just... fine. We had two no chicken hamburgers and the flavor was a bit off. The dessert was banana chocolate cake and it was good though.
Read moreOverall I would like to give them a constructive criticism and say that they should upgrade their menu. It's 2024 and vegan food can be done amazingly. Also I found it pricey for what it is (15€ for a burguer...).
Pros: Nice owners
Cons: WC out of order, Pricey
