Veggie chef - Edit
Veggie chef was a delight to visit, friendly service and delicious food, all vegan or vegetarian with lots of options. Specialised in Malaysian cuisine which is a plus!😋There was three of us and we shared chilli dumplings, akadashi tofu, chickn laksa and another dish I can’t remember. Because we ordered over a certain amount we got a free lemon chicken- absolute bargain 😊. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area. We will be back when we are in the area
Read morePros: Prices are very good , Staff are very friendly , Plenty of parking nearby

A bit hit and miss - Edit
Had the chilli oil steamed wontons, special fried noodles, and char kway teoh today.
Read moreThe CKT was delicious, with that traditional charred taste. I've tried it from here before, and is the reason I wanted to go back and it certainly didn't disapoint.
The special fried noodles really weren't very special at all, they were just your typical hokkien noodles in soy sauce, and looked nothing like the picture or description in the menu. It looked more like the hokkien noodles but with less sauce. Also a few of the tofu pieces were cold.
Although the chilli oil steamed wontons were delicious, each of the approximately 10 wontons only had a very small amount of (fake meat) filling, like about half a teaspoon full. I would prefer to have less wontons but more filling in each one. The chilli oil was very spicy so be careful of that if you don't like very spicy things.
Also, we've been here twice now, and each time the opening hours are different to what it is on Google. Both times we turned up for lunch but they have been closed so we had to come back for dinner. It really would be so convenient if they would update their social media, as we travel across town to get here.

Great little place - Edit
Although not entirely vegan (despite the “100% plant-based” sign on the window), 90% of the menu is vegan and the rest can be easily made so. I ordered the Singapore noodles and wontons which were tasty and arrived quickly with friendly service. Would definitely come back again!

Tasty Bento box - Edit
I enjoyed the salted calamari bento box. It was tasty and came with miso soup, which was bland. I also enjoyed a green tea as well. I’ll try a healthier option next time. The staff member was so friendly too!

Best Vegan/Vegetarian shop in Oakleigh and surrounds - Edit
Excellent Japanese and fusion restaurant with lots of mock meat options. I go here quite regularly now and the Char Kway Teow and the vegan chicken Laksa is probably my favourite dishes. The tempura udon soup and the nasu dengaku was really tasty. Most dishes are vegan, staff as really friendly.

Great food and efficient and friendly staff - Edit
The staff are very eager to please and efficient. They are very quick to serve you and take your order. When you are done, they quickly take your empty plates. The food is very nice. Everything vegan is labelled VG and the staff seem knowledgeable about what is vegan vs vegetarian. One problem is that the place is somewhat small, so you feel close to the other people in the restaurant.

Good - Edit
Laksa was nice. As was the salt and pepper tofu. The gyozas and veggie tofu were just ok. They need more sauce flavours & chilli but they don't use onion, chilli or garlic so it limits their flavouring. Will get a bento box next time. My friends enjoyed them.
