Good restaurant but long to be served - Edit
The food was good. The Tofish was just tofu in batter. Seeing other people's plates, we regretted not ordering tajines which seemed amazing.

Don’t have the tofish - Edit
Tofish large tasteless slab of tofu in batter. Tartare sauce very thin. Chips nice. “Chicken” gyros nice. All ok but for the price, not amazing.

Huge 100% Vegan Menu - Edit
This restaurant is a must visit for vegans in Cheltenham! The menu is huge, it’s almost stressful choosing from it as there’s so much choice. Everything I have tried so far has been delicious and the portions are generous. #Veganuary

Great food - Edit
Lovely atmosphere, very busy, we were lucky to get a table. The foot was great, but the final bill was as ridiculously expensive for a main, a side, a piece of cake and a soft drink. It came to £37, for one person, for lunch.

Lots of choice, cute cafe - Edit
The food was really nice and there is loads of choice. The owner was very friendly and affable. I would suggest it is maybe a little on the expensive side for what it is but an enjoyable experience never the less

Above average - Edit
The Berber tajine was excellent.
Read moreThe Tofish 'n' chips was less interesting, realistically it was a battered slab of tofu (purportedly organic) and fries.
The general feel of the place is very welcoming, though the host/owner can be overly talkative and takes a few social liberties.
Pros: All vegan

Blown away - Edit
First and foremost, make sure you don't eat anything beforehand as the servings here at minimum very generous. Myself and my partner decided to try here on a day out in Cheltenham, on arrival the fantastic host seated us literally as soon as we arrived, the menu is plentiful with an array of different options, soft/alcoholic drinks (Peroni on tap! Which surprised me) and a small larder of items to purchase during your visit.
Read moreI went for steak and chips with roquefort sauce and my partner had the chicken burger. I asked for my sauce to be on the side but following the recommendation (insistence!) from the owner I had it on my steak instead. I've never tried roquefort sauce and not a fan of white/creamy/vegan cheese sauces so this for me was really stepping outside of my comfort zone.
What I will say is please don't be in a rush to quickly be in and out, give yourself an hour MINIMUM for you to complete your meal, each order is cooked individually and fresh in a small kitchen but the food itself is mind blowingly good, flavourful and filled to brim, you will not walk away here unsatisfied or not full. The steak was quite simply the best steak I've had in my life and the sauce which came with it, just amazing a soreviously mentioned I'm not a fan, consider me converted. I did managed to try my partners burger and it was very very nice. Don't pass up the mushroom and spinich side with your steak, the flavours are awesome. We couldn't finish our meals but still after we found ourselfs being stuffed were dipping individual fries in that amazing roquefort sauce.
Thank you to all at the restaurant for your hospitality, great food and wonderful setting, this will not be the last time you see us. I can see myself and my partner talking about this place for a very long time, the standard has been set. Simply a pheonomonal experience all the way round.
Pros: Huge menu, flavourful, big portions. , Great host, great venue. , Great for couples and singles alike!
Cons: Not a negative, don't expect fast food times.

Must visit! - Edit
Oh my days! What a treat it was to visit this place today. Myself and my partner both family to clear our plates as the portions are quite hefty so I recommend not eating anything prior to visiting lol. We were only visiting for the day otherwise I'm sure this would be our local favourite to visit. The food was incredible and I'm in awe of the roquefort sauce that came with the seitan steak my partner ordered. Tasted just how I remember roquefort. I had the chicken burger which was also incredible. Although it was a toss up between that and the tagine which sounded amazing too, true comfort food!

Pleasant Atmosphere, Mediocre Food, Overbearing Owner - Edit
My wife ordered and loved her falafel burger with chips. I ordered the Tofish and Chips. I was impressed by the batter on the fake "fish," but that was only because of the look and texture. The inside was really just plain tofu, and the whole thing did not taste like anything. No marinade on the tofu, no seasoning, nothing. Also, the tartar sauce didn't taste like tartar sauce. No bite or edge to it. The best part of my meal was the peas, which were delightful.
Read moreThe biggest issue with this place, and the reason I'd never return or recommend it, is the owner's incessant commentary, including calling my wife "madam" a couple dozen times in about forty-five minutes. I know that's just him being "polite," but because he interrupted our meal so many times, it just became grating.
Finally, when I stood up to leave, the owner asked me what the rush was, then said to my wife, "Don't worry, madam, I'll take you home." Are you serious? That is simply not cool.
So, even if I loved the food, I would warn everyone against this overbearing, disrespectful owner. I'd especially suggest avoiding this place if you are a single woman, like the previous reviewer.

I would like to give one star - owner is very rude and sexist - Edit
Really unpleasant experience. I'm sure the food would be nice but they made me wait outside for 15 minutes in the heat when they were supposed to be open at 11. The owner kept calling me darling, honey, sweetheart and I said politely "can you please not call me that" and then he snatched the menu out of my hand and "OK then bye bye darling". Gross.

Seven stars!!! - Edit
I have given 5 star reviews before. But this restaurant surpasses all! We let Rachid, the owner, choose for us. We were not disappointed! Wine, tapas, Lebanese stew, salad, Kebap, fries, a few sides I can’t identify, and even a mystery Lebanese drink at the end. Our neighbors ate lasagna and other dishes and raved as well. Be prepared to leave very full!!
