Good food and easy to find - Edit
We ordered the chile relleno and the shambe plate. Both were really good. They offer vegan ice cream, 1 or 2 flavors, that change daily. They make it with coconut milk. Juices were also delicious.

Full of JOY - Edit
El Vegetariano is a beautiful place to be! Delicious juices and smoothies, full of color and fresh fruits!!! It is a fantastic option to try the best mexican dishes with a vegetarian/vegan twist. The cool, healthy vibes and loving space will definitely make you come back!!!

Pretty good - Edit
We enjoyed our meal here, it was a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. There were 2 vegan options on the menu, we both had falafel which was good. However, they claim the falafel option is vegan, but serve it with a pot of tzatziki sauce on the side which we presumed was dairy. They also serve fish so this is not really a vegetarian restaurant.

I've only eaten once there. The quesadillas and juice were delicious! The cappuccino was not. But, I am from a country with long coffee tradition, and therefore used to a different quality. I enjoyed my first dinner in Tulum in El Vegetariano.

Ok - Edit
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and really sweet. I was excited about the food and decided to order the only Mexican dish on the menu - soy Enchiladas. However, I didn't enjoy them that much - it was alright. Maybe the European dishes are better.

disinterested and unaccomodating staff - Edit
Ate here once before and it was ok so I decided to return. Arrived at lunch time, board on the outside was advertising a set menu price when asking about it to the waiter we were told only for after 4pm. Why advertise a low offer price from the street and not give this once sitting down to eat there? Asked a Juice combination which was not on the menu and was told "No, choose from the list". When pointing out that all fruits are there available the waiter said ok but with surcharge. Tried ordering food, was with non-veg family, they wanted to order chilaquiles (probably the easiest mexican food to prepare) was told it is available only for breakfast. Overall we didn't like the attitude of the female waiter and being so unaccommodating so we decided to leave! Talking with a friend he confirmed me a similar treatment so will definitely not return.

Very cheap, great food and vibe. - Edit
First restaurant in Tulum I saw when we drove in to the main street in the center. They improved since the last time I visited in january 2014. Lots of vegan options, simple but fresh food, very friendly staff. Also great green juices and fresh mint tea. Open clean kitchen. Great for breakfast, lunch and diner.

Nice but not many vegan choices - Edit
What's nice about this restaurant is that it's one of the few being open early in the morning for breakfast.
Read moreWe went there for breakfast and they actually have the same menu both for breakfast & lunch meals.
They are only a few choices and 90% of them are vegetarians and not vegan
Lot of meals with eggs!
The waitress was very nice though and accommodated our plates according to our vegan choices
They also offer juices and smoothies..and soy milk latte
The food is cheap and the place is cool!
Pros: Easy to find, Decoration, Open kitchen
Cons: not many vegan choices
