We tried the lemon and honey chicken, satay skewers, rendang and calamari. All were good, calamari was a bit dry. Lemon chicken was the favorite.

Great Sino-Malaysian Eatery - Edit
If you’re up for some hi-GI hi-fat fare, this place is pretty delish. The laksa is my go-to for a rounded full meal for one.

My go to dish here is the Char Kwai Teow, it's delicious!
Read moreThe Hokkien Mee was a little bland.
The menu is huge, and I would like to make my way through it, it's been hit and miss so far. Not consistently great or terrible. When it's not been a hit, it's almost always because it's a little bland.
The prices are affordable, and 10% off if you pay with cash.

Loved this place! - Edit
Went here on a Friday night (glad we booked) Yummy salt and pepper tofu. Although everything we ordered was nice. Service was a little bit slow - but it was fairly busy (lots of people coming in picking up take away as well). My husband (who eats meat) really enjoyed his black bean “beef” and said it tasted like the real thing. Can’t wait to go back!

Choices, people! - Edit
Be prepared for some tough decision-making here, as you can literally eat anything on the menu. Being a complete vegetarian Asian restaurant, the only things you’ll have to dodge are egg (which can be easily removed) and honey which I can only see as an ingredient in the honey chicken. The Lemon (mock) Chicken and (mock) Beef and blackbean sauce dishes are tasty and authentic, the way I remember it when I was an omnivore 33 years ago. The sweet & sour ‘ribs’ (something I would have never tried as an omni) is delicious and tangy, and the nasi goreng goes a ling way with its generous serving. Don’t go past the sesame ‘prawn’ toast with the sweet chilli dip, in fact, order two, as you’ll be left wanting more. Dining in is great, with the selection of indoor and outdoor seating, and I could be wrong but I think they are also BYO, and allowed us to bring our non-alc wines at lunchtime with no corkage. Weren’t particularly the friendliest bunch, in fact we were getting glares when we took our time finishing our jasmine tea- but with food like this, I’m here to eat, not make friends. 9/10, only because they still use egg.

Great variety of Chinese Malaysian food - Edit
Huge menu with many authentic meals plus Westernised Chinese food. The entrees were a bit too oily for us (spring rolls and drumsticks), corn soup was good. I love monkey head mushroom and I don't see it often, so really happy to have it here. Char kway teow was superb, lovely wok smokiness. Mains were huge in size. Service was fantastic.

Possibly the best Chinese Malaysian food in Melbourne - Edit
Really delicious food. The tom yum soup, yam ring and tofu clay pot were all delicious. Yam ring was my favourite. Highly recommend this place. A new favourite.

I eat order from here WAY too often - the food is delicious and quick and you get excellent value for money.
Read moreLemon and honey (syrup) chicken are my faves but can honestly recommend most anything on the menu.
My fussy omni partner approves of the mock meats, so passes that test as well.
Haven’t eaten in yet but the restaurant seems cute and has a nice feel to it, nothing fancy but very welcoming and a nice outdoor space.
Be wary of egg, it is offered optional on certain dishes and the only other non vegan offering is honey chicken which they substitute with syrup on request.

incredible value - Edit
Okay, wow! We were heading towards the Dandenongs today and if we hadn’t detoured via Springvale Rd to avoid the EastLink toll, we would have never have stumbled across Vegie Bowl in Forrest Hill. We called ahead and picked up takeaway for lunch on our way home from Sherbrooke and took it to nearby, beautiful Blackburn Lake for a picnic.
Read moreMy husband chose the nostalgic sweet and sour pork with fried rice ($10.90) and I choose nasi lemak ($11.50). The staff member who took our order asked whether or not we wanted egg, which was considerate. The pork was tender and the batter still had a little crunch, despite soaking in the sweet and sour sauce in the takeaway container for a short time, and we appreciated that there were a few fresh veggies in the mix. All of the nasi lemak toppings were a little jumbled in the takeaway container but they were all still delicious: succulent “mutton” in rich rendang, crunchy peanuts and fake anchovies, green beans, and spicy sambal soaking into the soft coconut rice.
There were quite a few people dining in for Sunday lunch in a warm friendly atmosphere. The staff were all lovely and the prices are unbeatable! We’ll definitely be back to try more of the Malaysian/ Chinese menu.
Pros: tender mock, great prices , friendly staff

I love this place. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and are always so obliging. Large outdoor seating area as well. Just remember to request everything to be made vegan as this is a vegetarian restaurant they also serve egg and dairy but always accommodate.

Really enjoyed this. I had the Tom yum noodle soup which was a massive portion. Food was out of the kitchen very quickly. Its a smaller establish so you’re bunched up around others, there was a table with some obnoxiously loud people but that’s life. Really value this venue, would recommend

Fairly standard Asian-style mock meat restaurant, but not to the standard of some of the others. My kung pao calamari was very sweet and a bit lacking in depth.

"Everything can be made vegan" - Edit
Popular place. Pleasant service. Menu says everything can be made vegan. I had Loh Han Mixed Vegetables, which were in a sauce with some glass noodles - mild and tasty and a generous serving, $16.90. I added a side of brown rice for $3. Mock meats are used in many dishes; some items have egg, so just request vegan if that's what you want. Location is on a bus route.
