Average & Getting Better

After my first review the owner invited me back after retooling some of the dishes. The food is now okay! Let's hope it keeps improving to become one of the best in SG! The burger now has more fresh veggies on it and the mayo adds nice flavor (though the patty is a bit small for the burger). The Alio Olio has nice heat to it. The cakes are not that sweet, which may appeal to some.

Pros: Location, 100% Vegan

Cons: Cakes could use improvement.

Café by the quay

We went here for lunch after having a stroll along the boat quay in the sunny weather. Located on the circular road this is the only 100% vegan cafe around this area so no need to worry yourself about having to query the menu. Perfect for a stop off for food or refreshments if you around the boat quay area. Inside vegcafe is inviting and the staff are very friendly. However, the menu is quite small and could really do with a few more options. We ordered the mutton curry and seitan noodles, which were both very tasty and cheap, although the portion sizes were quite small, so we left feeling hungry.

Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff, Affordable prices

Cons: Small menu, small portions

good lunch.

perhaps I was slightly disappointed at the lack of exotic dancers in the area, maybe this was due to it being lunchtime or my recent win on the grizzly Adams lookalike contest (kenny Rogers is still raging).
it's a really nice well decorated cafe, spotless and really nice people. we had a mushroom burger and chips(fries), avocado ciabatta and chips and I went for the.mutton curry.
the chips were out of a frozen packet which was disappointing, my mutton curry was tasty but not warm enough and had too much madras curry powder in it. the burgers were really good, it looks like the dehydrated the mushrooms and them bonded them in batter, it worked really well.
a good option for lunch.

Pros: vegan, good choice , nice staff

Questionable location

Not being very familiar with Singapore. I had no idea of the neighbourhood. But there seems to be a large number of bars offering "exotic" dancers and the like, very close by. If Singapore has a red light district, this us probably it. But never felt threatened even after dark.

Spent 5 minutes uses waiting for the waiter to come and ask me for the order before realising you had to go to counter to order and pay. Food was delivered quickly and very tasty with good portion size. Only downside was that some of the parts of the Vegan Mutton curry I ordered were cold. Would definitely go back

Lovely cafe, great food

Menu is quite small but has a variety of western and Asian food. Very reasonable prices - about $9 for a main meal. Good size portions and friendly staff.

We had the avocado rice bowl and soup, bimbimpap, cold tofu with seaweed and apple juice. There was also pasta, burgers, a few other dishes and a variety of other yummy-looking fruit juices and teas.
