3 visits, all perfection - Edit
Between us we had 5 separate meals, 2 separate starters, and 6 separate desserts and all were top tier. An absolute must visit and, I think, the only fully vegan restaurant on the island. Oh and the Proteico smoothie is class too!

Cute little place with very yummy options. We ordered the mushroom rissoto and the chilli supreme and really enjoyed it! For desert we had the chocholate cake with "snickers" and ice cream on the side which was super!

My grandmother and I stopped by Mundo Vegan for lunch and we loved the whole experience. The restaurant atmosphere is so welcoming and refreshing. You can tell that the owners and employees really care about what they're doing. As far as the beverages and food goes, we loved our juices and the burger was amazing. The risotto was a little underwhelming but still quite yummy. Ultimately, I highly recommend Mundo Vegan! So grateful that this place exists!

We had dinner here after finding this all vegan restaurant last year. We ordered the homemade lemonade which was not good! Shared a starter of ‘surprise’ balls, which were a bit bland but came with a great dip which was needed for taste. We both had the lasagne which was delicious. We shared a bowl of chips which were perfect! Definitely recommend

Visited twice on a short visit to Funchal. Lots of options on the menu. Really enjoyed the curry, if a little runny for my tastes. Bolo do caco was delicious.

We had dinner there and had one starter and two mains. The aubergine hummus was ok, but not really what I was hoping for. The chili was bland and the pasta had a good sauce, but ingredients could have been better. Juices are good tho. Overall not bad, but I wasn’t impressed, maybe we just tried the wrong dishes, others looked better.

Vegan chili is watery and not enjoyable - Edit
I had high hopes for Mundo Vegan as it is the only fully vegan restaurant in Madeira. Unfortunately I ordered the chili and it was utterly disappointing. It was like eating unrinsed bean water. Chili is supposed to be a rich tomato soup in my opinion and the chili served here was neither rich nor had any tomato base. My starter was also rather unremarkable.

A fully vegan venue. We went for an evening meal. There were lots of options on the menu. We had a risotto and a burger, both of which were delicious. Staff were lovely. They also have breakfast/lunch/snack menus as well. Would definitely return.

We‘ve been here twice in our holidays and we haven‘t been disappointed. We tried different starters, burgers, pastas, smoothies and bowls and liked everything - with a special recommendation for the „dirty“ burger, which is served on „Bolo de Caco“, the sweet potato bread you can find everywhere on the island.

This appears to be the only totally vegan restaurant in Funchal. It has a pleasant outside eating area in front of the building. Tables under umbrellas. The supporting team are all friendly and helpful and the facilities downstairs are good. Attractive design. Food is clearly freshly made but not too long to wait for. It is worth booking a table. We wish them well.

We really enjoyed this place. We had the vegan bolinhos de bacalhau and 2 burgers w/ beyond meat and fries. Then we had the cheese cake and the cinnamon roll. It was all delicious! And there are many more options to choose from. The place itself looks nice and the waiters are nice as well 🙂

We had been waiting all week to eat at Mundo Vegan so maybe our expectations were a bit too high. We've eaten very well during our stay in Madeira thanks to Happy Cow, but it always required some research and planning. When we saw there was a vegan restaurant in Funchal we immediately planned our last dinner in Madeira there. Me and my partner had two different kinds of pasta but neither of us really liked it. My pasta was supposed to have sun dried tomatoes and fresh oregano. But no tomatoes to be found and the oregano was the dried oregano which I really dislike. The portion wasn't very big and the taste was ok but nothing special. The wine was tasty, the cake was good. The atmosphere wasn't very nice as there was a heavy smell coming from the kitchen. I've just arrived in the hotel and my clothes and hair still smell like the restaurant. It was good to see that it was busy and people are choosing to eat vegan.

Read moreThe pasta you ate is veganbonara, dried tomatoes are added but you can't distinguish them as they are mixed with the tofu. Fresh oregano is added when we have it, otherwise we use dried ones.
Being a restaurant, it's normal to smell like food, don't you think? Sometimes the smell can be stronger as something could burn. It happens to those who work in the kitchen.
You could have asked to move to the terrace, there would be no problem 😊

we chose a meal based on chilly and beans. At first it goes well, but then it ends up becoming too spicy, which weakens the flavor, but overall it was very good. for dessert we chose a chocolate coconut pudding and a ginger-based cake. they were both fantastic. the place is very nice and the service too.
