Food was horrible

I can wait on food. So the slowness didn’t bother me. But after a long wait the food was all bad. I’ve been vegan for 40 years and I know what good vegan food taste like and this had no flavor at all. And I got sick from it so there was an ingredient that’s not vegan friendly.

Pros: Great location , Nice look of place , Great outdoor seating

Cons: Food is flavorless , Expensive , Slow service

Not fast or Organize

The food was pretty good, I will say that but the wait is impossible. I ordered my food on a delivery app and I didn’t receive my chocolate cupcake. These things happen so I call them to see what we can do. They told me they sold our hours ago but didn’t call or let the driver know so I could pick out a different dessert. They then tired to cash app me it back, I don’t use that. So I asked if I could come pick it up tomorrow. They apparently close on Friday’s 😒. Whatever, things happen.
So I went on the next open day. Placed my order and had to wait OVER an HOUR for a CUPCAKE! They had been opened for a few hours by then.

This place is 100% vegan but if you used to good vegan food this place will let you down, the good is really bad

meh

I had a small baked mac and cheese with bbq cauliflower. It took about 40 minutes and when I finally got it, it literally looked like it was scooped out of a pot and into the little styrofoam container. It was okay. They charged me $4 extra for a large when I ordered a small, one of the employees asked if I ordered a small and I said yeah and they said "But she rung you up as- nevermind" so I guess they didn't feel like correcting it. Nowhere on the building does it say Vegan Snack Shack so I'm not sure if this is just a different cafe with another business's menu? Weird set up. I also got a red velvet cupcake and it was really disappointing and tasteless .

Good stuff

Nice open space environment. The staff is super friendly, literally makes you feel at a family's, favorite aunt, house. I had the Jambalaya, and it was good, way more food than I was expecting. The sweets are good too, the size of the doughnuts are sad; you can not make something that good, that small.
something that good, that small.

Vegan snack shack

The restaurant is kind of tucked away between two classic houses in the garden district. Everything on the menu is vegan! They have southern cuisine favorites plus desserts! I was very impressed by the variety. The restaurant itself has a modern cafe vibe and they make your food to order. Only the desserts appeared to be ready ahead of time. I tried the jambalaya and gumbo which was delicious but nothing like traditional gumbo and jambalaya so if that's what you're looking for I'd try something else on the menu. They made theirs with quinoa which was interesting and it worked out surprisingly well. The fried cauliflower bites were SO GOOD but I don't reccomend getting them to go because they will lose some crispiness. You can't go wrong with the velvet cupcake that was absolutely amazing. Plus they have New Orleans art available.

Pros: The entire menu is vegan, variety, organic, fresh

Cons: Somewhat hard to find
