best Burger ever

I can't believe, that not everybody gives 5 stars here.

I have been in many cities all over the world !
For me this one is one of the best places for vegan burgers I have ever been! The barbecue one is over the roof! Must try!!
I prefer health food , but in my transition times it was the best way to go . Wanna have delicious "healthy" vegan junk food? Come here!!!!

Great vegan burgers! a must in Buda

Love this place. Gets a bit busy so make sure you can wait a bit for your burger (don't come starving). I had the BBQ tofu burger and my wife the Mexican burger. We also got a serve of the salad (highly recommend) - which is make your own and has lots of vegan cheese sauces and dressings. We liked both burgers - some other reviews have complained but I don't think if you can come here looking for specific tastes. If you like burgers then this is the place for you! Lots of great options - would definitely go back.

Pros: probably one of the best burger places (vegan) I&#

Cons: when it's busy, hard to find a seat

European burgers

To all North Americans , there seems to be a difference in the perception of what a burger should taste like. In the vegan world, they can throw anything together, but in a bun and call it a burger. I had the Mexican burger. As half my family comes from/lives in Mexico, and tex-mex is my fav food, there is NOTHING Mexican about this burger. It might be that land-locked Hungary Is far from a Taco Bell . It wasn't a bad burger, but hey.. Be warned, don't touch anything on the public transportation coming over, no sink, no bathroom?

Updated from previous review on 2017-04-21

Pros: Edible burger, Walking distance from central market, It's popular

Cons: No bathroom, No sink, Not American taste.

Just to correct this review, there most definitely is a bathroom, with a sink and a toilet in this excellent restaurant. We used it ourselves, also in April 2017.

Amazing burgers

Worth the walk out (or get the 47, 48 or 4 tram from the centre of town) as they serve the most amazing vegan burgers.
I had a bbq tofu burger with chips and a paprika veganaise. Superb and really filling.

Pros: All vegan, Clean and crisp interior

Pretty slow

when i came here, the stuff wasn`t really interested in saying hello or even carying if i would loke to order something. FInally i wanted to order a burger and fries, but they told me it will take at least 35 mins, even if i only take fries.
Yes, the place was full, but not overloaded and some people already had their food. So i have no idea how it takes so long for 5 people to make some burgers or at least fries. Then i had a salad at the salad-bar, which was ok, but they also don`t care if something is empty.
Would never come here again.

Pros: ok salad

Cons: unfriendly, extremly slow, cold interior

Excellent vegan street food

Small, but very nice place with a great selection of vegan burgers and hot dogs. I've had two of their burgers and they are among the best I've ever had. I liked it so much the first day that I had to go for lunch again, the next.

Pros: Good food, Fast service

Cons: Not a lot of seating inside

Fast food without the guilt!

For me this was a real highlight of the trip and something I really haven’t experienced anywhere before. These guys make the most incredible burgers from a small premises convenient for the Gellert baths and hill. The menu is drool inducing and it was hard to make a choice between such options such as shitake-quinoa and curried lentil. We went for the Mexican burger which was a black bean concoction topped with a thick layer of guacamole, melted vegan cheddar cheese, tons of salad, marinated peppers and a jalapeno aioli and the BBQ tofu burger which had a nicely marinated tofu steak as its center piece, smoked cheese, baby spinach salad, garlic veganese, both served into wholemeal spelt buns. Orders are served on recycled cardboard platters, which are very necessary with the juicy nature of these beasts. We had thin cut fries served together on the platter. The packaging throughout had been well thought through, we saw people leaving with take out orders in cardboard boxes and biodegradable bags. Ideally they would be using real plates for eat in orders but the kitchen seemed pushed enough as it was, with at least 6 people busy creating the freshly prepared orders. There was at least a separate collection bin for the trays for recycling but covered in sauce I’m not sure how viable that actually is but perhaps they are composted.
So, the most important thing is the taste experience and they did not disappoint. I felt each was perfectly balanced flavor wise as well as with the texture and sauce level. Yes it was messy, but I would much rather that then some dry overcooked bean patty in a puffy white bun, which I have experienced at regular joints as a vegan side thought. My burger was chunky with bean pieces, well spiced and a good solid texture. The sauces were succulent and the melted vegan cheese a real pleasant surprise as it’s not something I would usually go for. We shared bites of each other’s choices as well as many sounds of appreciation. The tofu burger was also delicious and had crunchy pieces of perhaps onion, which went really well with the creamy cheese. I was very content, feeling the familiar full sated feeling after a glutinous binge but without the guilt and perhaps the uncomfortable stomach complaints that could well follow the meat, cheese, and white bread version. We were nourished...... www.whitedragonorganics.com for full review and others.......

Pros: the best burgers i have ever tasted, good value , clean and bright premises

Cons: not many seats, we need more branches in every city!

Vegan Love

It is a best in Town Burger.
For vegans the size is a bit big so be careful, but very tasty.
Fries to be ordered separately.
Smaller place and as they prepare food by the order with many ingredients at times you might need to wait 30 minutes.
Staff is not really friendly, but ok.
Our favorite is the Mexican Burger with avocado and grilled paprika.
Their cheese is done by a Raw couple with all their hearts in it so it is also best in town.
It can be reached by Metro Line 4 and any bus or tram which stops at Gellért Square. 2 minutes walk from there and then can walk up on Gellért hill to the citadell with a sceneric route. Around 25 minutes long walk.

The absolute best

This is the best burger place this city has to offer.
It's safe to say I've been coming back over and over again and I've tried almost everything they have.

The food is perfect, the place is good looking, their "cheese" is amazing and overall it's just a great food experience.
Definitely a place not to miss!

Pros: everything is perfect

Cons: nothing

One of the best vegan burgers I've ever had

I went here with a friend and we weren't disappointed. I chose the BBC tofu burger and it was amazing. I really loved it.
You had to order the fries separately, we assumed that you didn't have to do that so we had to place another order and got the fries after we already finished the burgers.

Pros: Friendly stuff, good english, Great food, Cozy

Cons: Annoying, kinda stressful, music was playing, Limited choices of drinks, according to me., YOU HAD TO ORDER YOUR FREAKING FRIES SEPARATELY!?!

Exceptional food for a humble burger bar

I ate here twice, once in the shop and once at a vegan food fair a couple of days later. You will need to wait, it's not fast food, but it's worth it. Their offering at the food fair was possibly the best burger I have ever eaten in my 30 years as a vegan (much better than any faux meat one!) and the quality of the composition is very evident. Spelt buns, good vegan cheese sauce and cheese, good condiments etc. I wish them success and hope that the next time I visit they have bigger premises and one also on the Pest side. Well done Vegan Love!

Pros: Quality, Originality, Taste

Cons: Long wait

Interesting

I had been waiting weeks to try this place and got their sweet potato burger for 1490 forints. It was below my expectations unfortunately... It had a shrimp cocktail sauce that did not compliment it well. That said, I will come back to try their tofu bbq burger and chili dog. It was a cool place, hoping that the other menu items are better. Their salad bar looked yummy!

simple and delicious

They just do veggie burgers and hot dogs here, but what I had tasted great. I am usually wary of veganaise, but I went with it on my BBQ tofu burger, and it was a great combination. The fries were crispy and salty, too. Unfortunately they were out of the almond milk shake, so it would be nice for them to up the dessert options beyond just some chocolate bars, but given the number of calories I had, it might be for the best anyway.

Tasty and fresh

A varied selection of home made burger options, all significantly different with different home made sauces. Hard to bite and eat tidily as they are do full and generous. Grab several serviettes! The serve yourself salad is exciting and filling and is a meal in itself. Easily some of the best vegan buyers anywhere.

The best burgers ever

A really cozy and neat place on Buda side. We took Mexican burger and BBQ Tofu Steak burger and they were _amazing_ with all the sauces and cheese inside! Also French Fries were better than regular ones and salat buffet was really nice. Service was really friendly and they spoke good English. Definately the best burger place ever!

Pros: Looots of choice, Really rational prices, Great service

Good concept

I had the chance to come to this place during my visit to Budapest. I took the bbq burguer with french fries and 'homemade' ketchup sauce.

The burger itself was quite good, the french fries up to the standards but the sauce had some room for improvement.

The concept is similar to the one that is now very successful in other European big cities such us Warszawa. On the other hand I find it a little bit overpriced compared to other veg places in Budapest.

All in all, three stars. You can do better guys!

Pros: Vegan, Friendly staff, Tasty

Cons: Little bit overpriced , Sauce had room for improvement
