I almost never give out 5 cows, but I really liked this place. As of June 2014, the meal of the day costs 9500 pesos. The day I went, it included a bowl of beet soup, the main plate with 5 or 6 items, a glass of juice, and a small fruit dessert. I wish I could eat this good every day; it was so healthy and the flavors were great. I've never had beet soup before. For a typical tourist, you may not end up in this neighborhood by chance, but it's very nice, and the restaurant is right next to the Unicentro Shopping Center. The owner told me they also do deliveries. When they run out of the meal of the day, they also have tamales, lasagna, veggie burgers, wraps, etc. The owner lived in California for many years and speaks English. Although it may not be in the typical tourist places, this is worth the trip!
Pros: Flavors, Great service, Value and nutrition
Cons: Only 4 tables

We already eat a few times here. Very Nice almuerzos. Today we went for the cooking course and we learned so much! Christina teached us some of her amazing secrets about how to make delicious vegan food. Her enthusiasm is great and we definitely come again soon.

Vegan and Human Excellence - Edit
You should go for the excellent food. Most everything is made in house, and I was a bit embarrassed with how fast I ate my completely vegan beetroot, bacon, honey mustard sauce, cheese burger. It was that good.
Read moreYou'll return because the people are excellent. Antonio is a wonder, inspiring in food and life. I learned about his life in America, how his wife (who was in the kitchen) turned him vegan, and how his son is bilingual and vegan since birth. He's there too and quite charming.
Places like this are why you eat out, because food can nourish you and people can inspire you.
Thanks to Antonio and his family for both.

Medellín's Best Vegan Restaurant - Edit
The atmosphere in Casa Antonio's is exactly like walking into the home of someone you've known for years. I was greeted by Antonio and his wife, as well as their young son and friendly dog.
Read moreBeyond that, the space is extremely beautiful with a birds eye view of the street below. More importantly, however, the food was phenomenal. For just 12.000 COP you get the menu of the day, which consists of a fruit juice, soup, a main course and a dessert for afterwards.
If you are vegan, vegetarian, or simply looking for a good meal in Medellín, look no further than Casa Antonio's.
Pros: Hospitality, Incredible Variety, Also sells soy meat and cheese products for home

More than a restaurant - Edit
A vegan restaurant and education center which offer cooking classes and screenings of documenaries. The owner Antonio is passionate about plant base living and offers a tasty menu of the the fast food classics such as burritos, burgers and pizza with melting yuca cheese. You will also find traditional Colombia dishes such as tamal . I made 2 special trips from the more touristic neighborhood of el poblado to enjoy Antonio's offerings and fresh use of ingredients in his establishment in Envigado.

Nueva sede, nuevos sabores - Edit

Great VEGAN restaurant! - Edit
This is a restaurant and a shop, open every day of the week (including holidays, so I've been told) from 9am to 5pm. Lunch costs $ 12.000 (soup, main dish and a drink, I didn't get a dessert though). It was delicious! They also have a variety of veggie burgers on their menu. It is located near Unicentro (shopping mall).

My friend and I have been eating at Antonio's every single day of our 1 week trip to Medellin. They were definitly other options, but we just came back everyday because the food was so incredible. He gave us lots of tips and recommendations of things to do in Medellin which was really appreciated.

The food IS very good. The tamal was very tasty (although very similar to Veg Station's?) and the seasoning in the rice that i had was very nice.

Excellent service, excellent food - Edit
Antonio the owner is a very friendly and helpful guy who speaks perfect English and is a vegan himself. He talked us through the menu and made recommendations. Everything we tried was great, especially the fresh quinoa bread used in the veggie sandwich, which was filled with vegan imitation ham (gluten) and some delicious relish. Tamale was really good as was the sprouted grain burger. Hope to return again.

Will visit again - Edit
We had a very nice vegan lunch. The restaurant is small with queues at midday but we were lucky to find a table. The lunch that day consisted of pineapple and celery juice, spinach and leek soup accompanied by Hindu rice, a vegan patty and salad. It was very tasty, would have had just a bit more salt. Perhaps they could add some salt and pepper dispensers. It was excellent value for money. The owner is friendly and very efficient. Music was nice. Location is not hard to find if you take a taxi to Unicentro shopping center and walk one street and a half. If you get lost ask as many people know the location.

A little bit different and all vegan - Edit
Although it´s not particularly central (20 minute walk from Exposiciones metro stop), it´s worth a trip to this cute little restaurant. I ordered the menu del día, with creamed spinach soup, a cucumber lemonade, a black bean burrito, and a small piece of carrot cake. The burrito and soup were a nice change from the typical watery vege soup, brown rice and fake meat combo. They also offer burgers, lasagna, and some vegan food products to go.

Must Go! - Edit
The place can be tricky to find (as addresses in Colombia can be quite confusing), but it's totally worth it, it's relatively close to Unicentro which might make it easier to find. The food was incredibly tasty, my wife kept asking me if it was really vegan

This place took a little while to find, but definitely well worth it. I tried their menu of the day which was very healthy and hearty. Antonio, the owner, was very warm and welcoming. The guy is a legend! He gave us plenty of tips for traveling around Medellin and Colombia. His wife and staff were also very warm. The place is quite petite and apparently there can be a lineup. There also some vegan related foods sold to take home. My favourite place in Medellin thus far.
